don't even try to get something started. the 4wheelers aren't hurting a thing. there is not water out there right now nor fish. its not hurting anything. so just drop it.

Actually the core of engeneers will tear you a new one if they catch you in the lake beds, you would think they thought you were a terrorist or something. I would love to be able to ride there like in the old days but the facts are they could take your 4-wheeler, and the truck you used to get it there if they wanted to along with very hefty fines.

Let Fish and Wildlife Catch you down there and you'll get your question answered and I don't think you'll like the answer. No motorized vehicles below the redline.

Hey attitude, maybe I was just looking for a place to ride and unlike you I would like to know if it is legal before doing it.

so many ppl make such a big deal about riding 4 wheelers. whats it gonna hurt to ride on the park or in the woods. all there doing is making a trail to ride on. there not doing anything else. if the woods isn't used for anything why ot ride on it. the ppl who call the police either don't know how to ride and are jealous or can't afford to ride and are jealous. so just grow up and get a life. don't worry about the 4wheeler or side by sides. work and buy you one. then you can have fun like the rest of us.

Dont be a dick and give all recreational riders a bad rep. If you want to get caught thats your buisiness but all that will do is make the law watch for all of us. For anyone enterested here are some places where its legal to ride and you will have a blast. Royal is the closest I beleive, 15 or 20 bucks though but its worth it to be able to relax and not have to look over your shoulder afraid of getting caught by a pissed off land owner or the law on government land.

Thanks for posting these but most of the places are now closed. Royal trails use to be a good place to ride but not anymore. they need to do work on there trails. they needs to be cleaned up. they haven't done much maintenance work. they won't stay open long if they keep that up. no one will ride there.

Sure go ahead and ride on the red line...I used to be a park ranger for the Corps of Engineers at Rough River (8 yrs ago). You might get away with it for a while...but you'll get caught eventually. The Corps Rangers and/or Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officers will cite you. Depending on where you are riding, how many of you there are of ya (each person can be cited), and the amount of destruction to the vegetation on the SHORELINE (trail area such as trees rode down, etc.) will decide how much the fine (+ court costs)/restitution (this can be the most expensive when you get in front of a federal judge in Bowling Green)it will cost ya. Sometimes people ride on or below an area where someone has a vegetation and/or dock permit. This can void out their permit(s) if you are in any way associated with the permit holder. The Corps operates under Federal law and has their very own particular laws/regulations relating to destruction of shoreline/vegetation/natural resources. Even if someone or most of the group escapes the law...they will find out who you are. Sometimes one or two people become the "fall guy" and they will make an example out of ya...you may not like it, but it is just how it works. Trust me, I wrote several citation in this manner several times over a period of seven years. It's not so hard to find out who's doing what. People are caught on camera, and as ya know, others love to rat on ya when they think their goose is cooked. To be honest, it's like speeding or any other crime/violation...most people won't get caught (at least at first). BUT...some will and they will pay the price. I promise...the law isn't as dumb as they seem. Furthermore, people are a creature of habit. So, they will go back again and again (didn't get caught)...next time with friends...next time with beer...next time on meth...with a joint...next time run from the law on a public highway...have a wreck...get injured...go to hospital...go to jail... go to court...see what I mean!!! So sure, go ahead... you are playing the odds game...see if ya get caught. Some people may be too nervous to try it...others love the adrenaline rush and "what if I can outrun the law".
It's up to you...why not buy, rent/lease, or politely ask someone if you could ride some on their private land. Offer to help them out with helping do some maintenance on their property. if you spend some time and create a friendship, and don't abuse/take over their land...you may create a mutually beneficial relationship. Thats my 2 cents worth...
