Georgia GOP Activist Calls Republican Elected Officials Liars On Obamacare

Clint Murphy Calls Out Republicans.

Former Republican activist Clint Murphy did not miss words. He was frank and on point when he said the following to Savannah Morning News.

It is not surprising that so many Georgians are confused about the reforms of the Affordable Care Act.

It seems almost daily that you have a Republican candidate or elected official is making inaccurate statements or using various stories to fit their narrative of what’s wrong with the law.

As a Rotarian, we repeat a Four Way Test that asks, in part,“Of the things we think, say, or do, is it the truth?” I would submit to you that most of the Republican elected officials and candidates for office cannot answer in the affirmative to that question as it relates to the scare tactics being used to derail the ACA.

Back in August Clint Murphy revealed his story and how he came to the realization that opposition to Obamacare was wrong. Mr. Murphy is a testicular cancer survivor. His home state, Georgia, that does not have a high risk insurance plan for those with preexisting conditions abandoned by private insurance companies.

Clint Murphy was unable to empathize with millions of Americans previous to his own medical battles and his battle with the inhumane treatment by the private insurance system in America. He has however come to sanity. More importantly he is not doing it silently like most of his ilk who keep an anti-Obamacare face even as they quietly use it or advise others to do so.

Clint Murphy must be commended. Mr. Murphy must know that he is accepted unconditionally for seeing the light, for seeing the positive in Obamacare. Others must be encouraged and let into the moral fold. After all, that is the mantra of the left. We believe access to success for all, redemption, and second chances.

Leaked: The Republican Obamacare Sabotage ‘Playbook’
posted by Dylan Hock November 23, 2013

CNN recently obtained a copy of a House Republican strategy memo released late last month titled,“Because of Obamacare… I lost my insurance.” Referred to as the Republican Obamacare “playbook”, the memo contains samples for everything from talking points, social media, op-eds, videos… you name it, including a “fact” sheet for Republican lawmakers fighting the Affordable Care Act.

First reported by Roll Call, a GOP source responsible for providing the strategy memo to CNN stated that it would be updated as of Thursday.

“The administration now has a serious competence problem. Healthcare.gov is so much more than a website. The website should have been the easy part,” a portion of the playbook reads. The conservative angle present in even that small section should come as no surprise. Republicans have been quite clear and vocal about their disdain for the Affordable Care Act.

The playbook was drafted by the office of House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers amid a Republican fairytale regarding the stumbled roll-out of the Affordable Care Act. President Obama noted at a Wall Street Journal event last Tuesday, speaking to some of America’s top CEO’s,“One of the problems we’ve had is one side of Capitol Hill is invested in failure.”

White House spokesperson Eric Schultz echoed President Obama, stating that the Republican “18 page playbook of partisan attacks is 18 pages longer than their health care plan.” He went on to say,“There’s not a single word devoted to helping constituents enroll or offering an alternative idea to help Americans gain access to quality, affordable care.”

Democrats plan to continue supporting the Affordable Care Act a spokesperson for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi affirmed.

“While Republicans continue to fixate on sabotaging health reform and root for failure, House Democrats will continue to stand tall in support of the Affordable Care Act, work to strengthen the health reform law as implementation continues, and ensure that millions of uninsured Americans get coverage,” Drew Hammill stated.

Blind party politics is nothing new, but the Republican Obamacare “playbook” demonstrates the new depths of cynicism and partisanship of Republican efforts to sway the American perspective and dialogue.

Be sure to watch for similar Republican practices on every other important issue. You can bet nothing is done without a playbook at the ready.

Pope Francis Rails Against Conservative Christians’ Superiority Complex (VIDEO)

You know how conservative “Christians” constantly act like they’re better and more superior than everyone else? Well, according to Pope Francis, real Christians aren’t supposed to act that way.

Pope Francis says Christians who act superior to others aren’t real Christians

Last Wednesday, Pope Francis once again took aim at the Christian Right. The pontiff told his audience in St. Peter’s Square that Christians are supposed to be humble rather than look down upon others as inferior. Christians who act superior to everyone else aren’t true Christians. The holy father made the comments as part of his explanation of the meaning of the Christmas story.

“In Christmas, God reveals himself not as one who stands above and who dominates the universe, but as He who lowers himself. It means that to be like Him, we do not have to place ourselves above the others, but come down, come down and serve them, become small among the small, and poor among the poor.”

It sounds like Pope Francis is talking to conservatives

In short, Pope Francis says Christians need to stop acting as if they are superior to others. You know, like conservative “Christians” do on a daily basis here in America. For years, conservative Christianity has been steeped in hatred of others. Conservatives hate the poor and have sought an agenda designed to punish them. Furthermore, conservatives hold sexism and racism in high regard. To them, only religious right-wing white males should have a say in the world. That’s why conservatives have pursued policies that scale back civil rights for women and people of color. Because to them, women should be subservient to men and people of color belong back on plantations or should be deported.

Conservatives have also declared war on other belief systems. Hatred of Muslims and atheists run rampant in right-wing circles. This is especially true around the holiday season, when conservatives across the country try to convince everyone that there is a so-called war on Christmas. The fact is, no one is waging such a war. In reality, conservatives are using a fake war on Christmas to attack other faiths. Again, conservatives have a superiority complex.

But Pope Francis says acting in such a way disqualifies a person from daring to call themselves a Christian.

“It is an ugly thing when one sees a Christian who does not want to lower himself, who does not want to serve, a Christian who parades around everywhere. It’s terrible, no? That person isn’t a Christian.”

Here’s the video.

Pope Francis has called out conservative Christians multiple time since becoming pontiff

This isn’t the first time that Pope Francis has taken a shot at the religious right-wing. In October, he denounced ideologically obsessed Christians, especially those who focus on hating gay people and trying to ban a woman’s right to choose an abortion. The pontiff said these Christians have an “illness.”

In addition, Pope Francis has also attacked the entire economic world view that conservatives hold so dear. Earlier this month, he referred to trickle-down economics as a “tyranny.” And since becoming the pontiff in March, Pope Francis has made multiple statements slamming conservative ideology. And the right-wing hates him for it.

Conservatives should listen to Pope Francis instead of hating him

Instead of twisting the words of Jesus to suit an agenda, Pope Francis is using the true teachings of Jesus to educate conservatives on how to be real Christians. Perhaps they should open their ears and eyes and give it a try. In other words, stop hurting the poor, stop being sexist toward women, stop being racist, and stop denigrating other religious views. And most of all, stop hating.

Comedian Dusty Smith shared some interesting news with the world! Apparently, if you have been enjoying the lifestyles of the Ducking idiots on A&E, you have been fooled! What you thought were semi-rugged, backwoods hillbilly types whose brains have been so irrevocably damaged by paint huffing that they have chosen to make devices designed to get ducks horny for a living…are really just a bunch of khaki and bullsh*t yuppies.
The Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil has recently been taken off of the show indefinitely following some “Hate For Jesus” remarks he made, in which he suggested that the whole of the LGBT community is an abomination to God. Predictably, every single right wing media outlet, politicians, and pretty well every single person in America who finds themselves unable to count to three without starting over at least twice has jumped on the Phil Robertson bandwagon.
What these imbeciles fail to realize is that the Duck Dynasty crew is not the “apple pie, America, and JESUS” inbreds that they assumed their heroes to be. In fact, photographic evidence has surfaced that shows the makers of avian sex toys in their true form.
Take Jep, for instance. This is what he looks like now:
It may surprise you to know that before Duck Dynasty, Jep looked a teensy bit different. How different? This is Jep before Duck Dynasty:
Jase Robertson is no different! This is what he looks like now:
Seemingly for no better reason than to portray someone who almost surely has had an inappropriate relationship with at least one close family member, Jase’s appearance has been drastically altered from before adopting his new persona and look. This, believe it or not, is Jase.
But what about Willie? Surely he would not sell out his appearance for the boatload of money that catering to the Blaze crowd promises! Willie is legit! Just look at him!
Unfortunately, it’s true. Even Willie gave in to the lure of fame. Previously, he drew upon the power of the Gap to energize his brightly-frosted hair.
And of course the family photo:
Do they really run a duck call business? Yes! but that seems to be as far as the truth stretches. Are they really the ultra-wholesome, selectively devout faux-Christian family they claim to be? Probably.
One thing is for sure, though. The look that they rely on to “sell” the show is completely, unequivocally false.
Feel free to take a look at the CultofDusty’s take on these yuppies-turned-hillbillies:

Thanks, RC Co-Cola, and backatcha. Facts are facts, yet the idiot regressives just stick their heads in the sand and refuse to accept them. Did you see where jethro mewled for help from the bottom feeder?*snicker* He has nothing to dispute the facts, so he whimpers for him/her/it to create a diversion. What a little snot-nosed coward he is.

A&E’s Decision to Suspend Phil Robertson Is Not a Freedom of Speech Issue

In America, the 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of speech which is the political right to communicate one’s opinions and ideas using one’s body and property to anyone who is willing to receive them. Also included in the 1st Amendment is freedom of religion which is defined as the right to choose a religion (or no religion) and exercise it without interference from the government so long as it does not encroach on other citizens’ rights. There is a minor controversy raging among conservatives and evangelicals over one minor television personality’s right to communicate his opinion based on his religion that the constitutionally challenged have determined is a freedom of speech issue. Whether or not one is inclined towards intellectual masochism by watching A&E’s modern iteration of the Beverly Hillbillies,“Duck Dynasty,” or not, A&E’s decision to suspend one of the show’s stars is not a freedom of speech issue.

The fact that Duck Dynasty’s patriarch, Phil Robertson, was able to voice his bigoted religious opinion and see it in print settles the argument once and for all that his freedom of speech and religion were not interfered with by the government. However, that has not stopped the right-wing from going berserk over A&E, a private entertainment network, exercising their freedom of speech in announcing to their audience that they cut a character from one of their fake reality shows; likely for some sort of breach of contract for damaging the entertainment network’s reputation as tolerant, and arguably supportive, of the gay community. What conservatives fail to acknowledge is that there are no constitutional free speech rights involved in A&E’s decision, except that Sarah Palin, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, and a host of bigots at Fox News are attacking A&E for exercising their right to freedom of speech.

Both Palin and Jindal are not concerned about defending Robertson’s freedom of speech any more than Palin defended Martin Bashir’s right to free speech, but they are rabid to defend his right to use religion to express hatred of gays. At least Fox News’ bigots defended Robertson on religious grounds that beg the question; when does homophobia stop becoming religious speech and be what it really is; religious hate speech? Even though more Christians are abandoning the idea that being gay is a sin, the majority of bible-thumping evangelicals like Robertson think that, like Old Testament god, homosexuality is an abomination. Fox, in particular, does not delineate between anti-gay bigotry and Christianity they reveal by treating rabidly anti-gay hate groups like the American Family Association (AFA) and the Family Research Council (FRC) as legitimate and typical Christian organizations. At the rate Fox defended Robertson, it appears that anti-gay extremists are allowed to say anything as long as they claim they are Christians and it is true of everything conservative Christians espouse including support for anti-women legislation, defense of the rich stealing from the poor, and avid support for Israel at the risk of war with Iran.

Jindal, Palin, and Fox News, or any so-called 1st Amendment Christian conservatives are not defending Robertson’s freedom of speech; they are defending his right to use religion to spew hate speech against gays. Various conservatives, particularly religious conservatives, will and do attack anyone’s freedom of speech, even the Pope’s, if it varies from their personal religious or political beliefs; including the free speech of a private entertainment network for announcing they suspended a character from one of their phony reality shows.
