WTF! i've been workin at bel brands for 9yrs. now and the whole time i've seen and heard alot of things here. ppl ask me how do you get on there. i tell them it's easy all you have to be is either a high school student, married with no kids, an acholic, or an ex-drug addict. that's all they seem to want to hire! as well as you need to know everyone that works there. they don't want to hire ppl who are struggling with supporting their families day in and day out! so there you have it ppl. if ya want to work at bel brands all you need is one of the traits i have mentioned. if you are working hard to support your family your best bet is to get a 2nd job!

MOOOOOO!!! I love my cows! I work there. It's a GREAT place to work. I work with awesome people and we are like one big family. Sorry you have had trouble, but you shouldn't stereo-type everyone there. I take it your charming personality didn't help you in your interview.

Ive tried to get on a bel cheese several times, but sadly failed :( Im not sure what im doing wrong, but I thought I was a very suitable person for the job..I dressed appropriately Ive studied different questions interviewers give..Im usually cool calm collected and Im probably one of the hardest workers out there and I actually take pride in working hard to become one of the best workers at any job, but ive already been told that if you don't know someone who works there its very hard to get on..which stinks because I don't know anyone who works there.

Any other way? Is there some special code I'm missing?

I dont do drugs, Ive never been in trouble, I've got a high school diploma and some college..Im over the age of 18, im 25 years old. I'm very respectful. Ive never been fired from a job. Ive had 2 jobs in my lifetime..first job I put in 2 weeks notice because I found a better paying job. The Second job moved to another country.. I can easily get great recommendations from others who worked at each job...Im not sure what the heck im suppose to do to get hired there.

It's nothing you've done wrong, I've known several people that were fortunate enough to get an interview but were not hired, they would have been an asset to the company, as you probably would. I worked for Bel Brands for several years, and I must say they are the best company to work for ! Please don't give up, keep trying to get your foot in the door, I promise you will be glad you did. I wish you the best of luck !

Ive heard how they wont hire you if you dont know somebody. I think its wrong that it is like that. Thats why I refuse to buy their products. And everyone else I know refuses to also.
Of Course

No big deal. You have to know "somebody" just about anywhere to get a job. What do you think references are? That is the way it is done in this country unless the place is expanding so fast that they need just about everyone who walks in.

I've been @ bel for yrs & I have to agree with Just B N me...we are one big family! If Moo is not happy there, you know where the door is & don't let it hit you on the way out. I didn't know anyone when I was hired out there so that's not a requirement. Neither are the other qualities that Moo mentioned.

like the other person said. At least its a job..which is hard to come by now days (trust me Ive been looking). Plus it's been in leitchfield for a long time and it seems like they're still going strong which is more than what other places can say.

Every place of employment will always have bad apples, but you've got to be the bigger person and look over it, do your job and count your blessings that you have a job. I've learned to never take a job for granted, because I know what it's like when it's taken from you.

The key word there is EX-drug addict. The policy at Bel Cheese, if I recall correctly, was to require an employee who failed a drug screening to receive drug and alcohol counseling. Which seems like a much more compassionate and understanding solution than a company that would fire someone outright, causing them to lose their health coverage and livelihood, and ensuring that they'll never be able to get help for their problems.

Seems to me like Bel Cheese actually CARES about its employees, whereas you sound like someone with an axe to grind there, Employee of the Month.

You should feel fortunate that you have a job; good or bad. There is a lot of people out there who don't. My son works there and he seems happy there, as do all my coworkers from Trim Masters, who jobs went south.
