Who is Nick Finn?
Sounds like a drug dealer from Leitchfield?
Why doesnt Clarkson just get paged for all fires in East grayson and Wax?
They always wait 20-30 minutes till its burnt up to ask for help then its too late?

Nick Finn and his wife Dana are good people, they are not drug dealers ! If you're so concerned that Clarkson fire dept waits too long to call for assistance, then volunteer for the department instead of asking so many questions !

I think that meant that East Grayson and Wax fire depts. wait too long to call for assistance from Clarkson, not the other way around. At least that's the way I took it anyway.

Yeah you're probably right, the Nick Finn being a drug dealer set me off. Nick is alot of things, some not so good, but a drug dealer ?! Nope.

Well neither one of them had enough water in their trucks to put out a fire for a very, very small house lastnite, they had to tap into the water meter. In the mean time this house burnt. Now that is scary.

I saw that house the other day coming from E'town - it's right on 62 in Big Clifty - are there no hydrants in Big Clifty town limits, and if not why arent there hydrants with county water mains being along the right of way? I'm in Clarkson and while not much bigger we do have hydrants, one right across the street from and all over that I can tell. Just something wrong about fire trucks running out of water even if they are volunteer with older equipment. Water is their main tool and running out is like a restaurant running out of food. Why is everyone always coming up with slander of people on these posts - they read these to see names they can come up with odd things about rather than posting about the actual story. Post about the fire not whether or not the owner or occupant is a drug dealer or not.

Actually Justme, there are hydrants in Big Clifty. One is by the bank, the other is just down the street from the Methodist church. I am sure there are a couple more. Now about running out of water. The Average fire truck holds about 800 gallons of water. The average pump on a fire engine sprays 800 gallons per MINUTE. Even with a dump tank sitting there, you can use all the water before more is brought in. It takes over a minute to fill an engine or tanker truck up. Time is just against firefighters.Plus the house was already engulfed before the fire department was called.

Just as a note, even if you have a fire hydrant in front of a burning house most of the hydrants out in the county would be sucked out of the ground by most any pumper the departements have. Before you badger these departements about loosing houses saying they are not good check out all the facts before you hammer on them. Here is a scenareo for ya, your house is on fire and you call 911. Then 911 dispatches the fire dept. out. by now maybe 5 minuits have passed. Now the firemen drive to the dept. and get there gear on and leave the dept. taking another 5 min, if there fast and near by. there is 10 min. already passed. Now lets take the time to drive to the fire in which most trucks are governed not to go over 55. lets say you live within 5 min. from the dept. there is 15 min. your house is burning before the first truck roles up. Now lets say the pumper starts pumping water that can be drained in less than 2 min. Where is the other water comeing from? you can not run directly from most hydrants in the county, so now your waiting on a tanker to shuttle the water. Where is the manpower? Most of the time in small departements 5 to 7 people show up for the fires. lets see here. 1 person shuttleing the water, 1 person running the pumper, 2 airpacking on the house with 2 more on standby to releave the 2 in the house when they run out of air. hmm, thats 6 people you have to have right off the batt. I say instead of sitting on here telling about how a departement lost a house why dont you join so they can have more manpower, or why dont you get off your high horse and try to get more hydrants in your surrounding area, or heck why dont you just take a cold bottle of water over to them and hand it to them and say thanks!! but instead your doing nothing but running your mouth about how bad they are but doing nothing to help. Keep in mind these county departements have no full time people. leitchfield can get a truck rolling in the matter of a few minuits due to someone being there all the time.

actually, if you were talking about the big clifty fire dept.....
1st, they get a call.
2nd, they respond to the station.
3rd, they park the various bicycles, hadicap busses and what not.
4th, when they all get each others heads out of one anothers' asses...they stop, discuss where they were when they heard the call, whos voting for whom on the board, how fast the cheifs' car can go..
5th, by the time they get there, clarkson already has the fire out.
remember the 10th fire dept comandment guys. " there shalt not be 'tards on thy fire dept, or kiss thy arses goodby."
thumbs up multiple arses, are a terrible thing to waste!
got to love the clifty fire dept. i didnt know they made gear in that size either. how awesome is that !!

Yeah the best at thinking thier shit don't stink and for screwing around with each other wives and girlfriends, for holding grudges, taking pain pills, stealing and being drunk in public!! My kinda hereos, I know I would want my kid to look up to a bunch of pathetic idiots like that!! They ain't no better than anybody else, just think they are... plus they are fortunate they aare taken care of by Bonnie Henderson and Clarkson Money!! THey don't have to share in the pot of money from the county that the other departments do, thats why the other depts cant get what they need!! the county doesn't fund them enough money, they all do the best with what they are give,... if you have any complaints go to the county and tell them the fire depts need more fire hydrants, equipment and whatever else!! Its not their fault, but clarkson sure aint nothing no more than the rest, if anything they are the least likeable dept in the county!!
