Question Priorities

With all of the problems in this world, this is what you want to focus upon? Try the high cost of health care, access to health care, the shortage of doctors, and the funding of medicare and medicaid, just to name a few. I can assure you no one really gives a hoot about seeing your behind. If you want to find a mission in life, find one that has some substance and one that really makes a difference. You don't need an organization or a mass of people to fight this fight. If you feel your modesty is being compromised, all you have to do is speak up and I will assure any self respecting health care professional with take appropriate measures to protect you. Now, try to focus on something really important.

Many hospitals can't find enough nurses at the wage they will pay right now, regardless of what they carry between their legs. Medical care already costs too much without you guys encouraging lawsuits and costly gender based staff quotas. If I need a doctor, getting a competent doctor and staff, in a clean facility, at a price I can afford to pay without going bankrupt are my primary concerns, and that he/she or someone else might see my rear end is not a primary concern.

Until the problems of ridiculously high fees, barely trained "doctors" from some hole in the wall country, MRSA, sloppy lab work, medication errors and sitting in waiting areas with others who have God-knows-what communicable disease are fixed, I could not possibly care less if someone happens to see my rear end or genitalia while I'm there.

And chances are, those doctors or nurses don't want to see what people have/don't have! Great posts "Question Priorities) and "Not rocket science."

Coming from someone who has worked in the medical field for several years now, I can honestly tell you that once we have seen one penis or vagina we have seen them all. I can't tell you of one time where anyone in my profession has intentionally embarrassed someone because of their nudity. I know "being naked" is hard for some of you, especially in front of essential strangers in a cold, sterile, room but unfortunately sometimes that is necessary. We have to see your body to try to find out what is wrong. If you are uncomfortable in just a gown, ask the nurse for an extra one to wrap around the back side. Also, voice your modesty concerns with the nurse or your physician, I'm sure they would be more then accommodating.

i agree, why should modesty be such a low priority in our town? just because we are small town doesnt mean we should not respect other peoples boundries. i guess for you you seen one you seen them all, just doesnt work for me. if that is so, why do porn industry do so well, why do people cheat on each other, no i am sorry, but that is not true, there are faces that are attached to those genitals being examined. i have always thought it wrong for men to examine women in their privates, even if its a doctor. this was started only in recent times for common people to let a man examine their wife naked, there used to be mid-wifes, which is what obstetrics really means(latin for midwife).

i think that modesty should be respected, instead of taken as granted or a given. even in the er all kinds of people come and go during a procedure, people that dont even have anything to do with the treatment, they are just wanting to look, or talk. cant that wait until the pateint is decent?
im sorry, but i do get a little peturbed when another man wants to examine my wifes breasts or genitals--sorry buddy that is private even for you
