Now all we need is an Equal Marriage bill.

I wish the New York Senate would come to some agreement...

All of the New York state Senate for the same ridiculous reasons you would have Obama impeached.

First of all, I don't think you can impeach a senator.

Secondly, the stalemate going on right now in the New York Senate is pure politics and a making if the Democrats. The Republicans last held the majority in the Senate, it is now split 31 -31, and the Democrats will not recognize Republican control, nor make any compromise at all with the Republicans to get anything done.

This is pure politics.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a Lt. Governor, who is able to break ties in the Senate, because the office is vacant as Paterson resigned to become Governor.

The New York State Constitution does not have any means to replace a Lt. Governor, should that office become vacant. This is obviously something that should be remedied by a state constitutional amendment asap. God knows when that will happen...

In the meantime.....

Enjoy the politics.....

Excuse me? The Republicans lost control of the NY Congress for the first time in a generation and then staged a "coup" to grab their leadership positions back....and it's the elected Democrats fault? One of those 31-31 split representatives is a Democratic sideing with the Repukes. Originally it was 32-30 because 2 Democrats defected. Now it's an even split of fighting over the ball.....and America has the nerve to criticize other governments!

"NY Congress" ???!!! What planet are you from ?

People elect individuals to the Senate. They don't elect a party. Any senator is free to vote his conscience. There was no "coup". An election in the senate took place and a DEMOCRAT, Pedro Espada, was elected President Pro Tem, currently the highest position in the Senate.

Learn what you are talking about before spouting your nonsense. You are CLUELESS.

What is currently going on in the New York Senate is a political fight that will be resolved by the parties involved, or if that's not possible, it will probably be resolved by voters in the next election (about a year and a half from now).
