Review: Mac's Auto Repair

I brought my vehicles to Mac's for a few years, but I would never trust them again.
Their prices have gone way up and the quality of work has gone way down. When I had an emission problem (check engine light) they began replacing parts that my car didn't need, and would not show me the old parts. After bringing my car back several times and hundreds of dollars of repairs, the light would come back on before I got home. The last part they wanted to replace would have cost me $420 at macs. I switched to a new shop and got the repair done for $190. My new mechanic explained the repair and showed me the old part. The light never came back on.
Their technicians are sloppy and careless and the management doesn't want to hear about any complaints. I usually tightened bolts and cleaned the grease off my seats without saying anything when I got my cars back from Mac's because their new service manager pretty much ignores you, anyway.
From the shabby looks of their shop, you would get the impression that you're saving money, but you're actually paying dealer prices for low quality repairs and parts, like brakes that grind after 8 months when the original ones lasted over 8 years.
There are plenty of good quality shops in town, I would steer away from this one.
