Hi, i got to school with Brett and I am one of his freinds. There are many rumors going around about how he died and truefully I don't want to belive any of them. So does anyone know how he really died?

He did not die from crack, heroine, coke or at a "pill party" There is currently a police investigation ongoing. I would appreciate if people like the ones that posted on here would not feed into the rumors and lies. Brett was a good boy who worked hard in school and had very good grades. He was into eating healthy and working out at the gym every day. You see I know this because I am his mother. So please let his family and close friends grieve in peace and let him rest in peace. And remember this could happen to anyone so watch how you talk about people.

I did know what happened that night. I just couldn't say anything because of the investigation. And there is still more to the story. Like the fact that he was lied to about what he was taking and he only took half a pill and so much more that you have no idea. And it doesn't change the fact that he IS my son and a good kid and didn't deserve this. Just like no one else does. I do not wish this on anyone. So stop judging when you have no idea.

Also if you read my past comment. All I said was he didn't die from heroine, crack , or a pill party. Don't be so quick to judge, if you don't know what you are talking about.

I really doesn't mater which drug or how much, he still died of a drug overdose. End of story

Listen, he is one of many that died of an OD. It doesn't appear that is mother is denying that. She is merely stating that nobody deserves this. The fact is the community does need to do something about the drugs, my guess is attacking Brett's mom isn't the start of forward progress. Get off YOUR arse and do something about it, be proactive. Writing rude stuff on here isn't proactive at all. That is all!

Thank you to "doesn't matter"! That is exactly what I am trying to say. I want to do everything I can to stop this from happening to someone else. And I am really frustrated that I can't even really speak out yet about it.

I want to tell Brett's story so that it helps others, even if it changes the outcome for just one kid. I am a walking example that this can happen to anyone. Brett didn't come from a broken home; we had and still have dinners at the table where we talk to our kids about their day. We have family time with our kids. He was attending a private college, getting good grades, working his butt off in the summer to pay for his own things.

He had goals and ambitions, and this was like a freight train hitting a building for our family. People need to see that this type of thing can pick and choose anyone, it doesn't discriminate, and it needs to stop.

Brett took a half of pill, yes he thought it was something else, but he still took it. His alcohol levels weren't that high; but the combination was a devastating result. Kids and parents need to wake up; don't let this happen again.

sorry to hear of this story through a wrestling buddy who attended school with him.
opana is actually an opoid (synthetic form of opiate). when snorted 6-8x more potent than heroin/ morphine and bc its new people dont know about it. i had to get myself off it last year (with lots of difficulty since i was doing twice that much everyday). I did it because it made everything so much better and was so easy to hide in front of friends / family. Sorry he was exposed to that

My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. No parent should have to go through this. Don't explain yourself to anybody here you don't have to. As for the people posting negative stuff please have compassion for the family and let them grieve the loss of their son and refrain from the rumor mill. Thank you.
