Never said the school was the problem. I only said the disciplinary action didn't make much sense and that transferring schools wouldn't help him at all.

the one kid i agree with you. it seems tough if your young. as you can see, as people become adults they are suppose to have control in life and wisdom. but from the responses given it seems many must have no control and have become control freaks that lack logic of reality. if you research other school policies you will see first; all most all schoosl have in school detention where the student is allowed to make up the work. all most all schools have a 3 tardy policy meaning "in school suspension" where they are allowed to work. we have a real problem with adults who have no back ground knowledge of the education world and many in that world dont belong. your friend does need to find a solution to the tardies. but then again most places have alternative schools that start at 10 or 1 for students who just lag in the morning or need a different aspect to learning, which seems your friend would benefit from. sad for you to it seems you dont have options but do your best with what you have and please dont grow up to be control freaks. no one knows why or asked why the student was late on this forum they just pointed their bitch y finger. how do you know what is going on at home? just what if there were problems causing this? then again maybe its just a student who "lags" but point in hand is student has enough smarts to get to school and not skip. that is whats important. the punishment does not fit the action for the student and seems unfair. but then again this is an area that arrest someone for not paying child support and puts him in jail with hard criminals. a backwards society it seems. its simple you have a student who "wants " to attend school, is attending school but they are tardy. so you punish this child that attends school but drags a little by keeping them from school? wake up that is stupid seems you are instilling the message that " yes you are trying and it seems you have some difficulties but hey let me now make it even more difficult for you because i am the adult and i have the control and power" bs. adults in this nation wonder why education is not up to par and our youth has no drive? well because of know it all control freak adults who lack logic and understanding.

1. Have a child before you make determinations on others children. THAT is rule one. It is apparent YOU have no children.

i made no determinations on peoples children i must determinations of adults. and it seems you are a know it all i am speaking of and to top that lack reading comprehension. i assume you got lost after the third sentence. and your logic that you have a child which makes you an expert is flawed. thats why we have so many troubled youth, over weight youth and youth the lack morals because of self absorbed parents who think now that they have that title they are expert rulers over their domain. thank you for making my point.

I can see now WHY you have no comprehension of childrens needs and wants. Living in YOUR dream land you discovered the mental thoughts of a teenagers need to be late to school. Experts like you have all the answers to every question but the question at hand. Dogs or Cats?

Which one do you base your wealth of child raising knowledge on?

Ask Beason why he didn't get suspended all of those years that he was either late or didn't show up at all. Ask Judy Dowden why she falsified his time sheets all of those years. When iIlook at him, I see a Macy's Thanksgiving day float crossed with the caveman from GEICO.

Take a look at how his suspenders pull his pants all the way up to the back of his neck!!!!

Holla if you hear me!

Amazing how quickly these threads can disintegrate from serious discussion to name-calling and stupidity!

<quoted text>You really want to know what I think, young man? I think your friend should get his act together. Get to school on time. Get his tail up and get ready for school and be there on time. If he needs an alarm clock let someone know. Get his butt up, u-p. If the system didn't have rules and enforce them, you guys will stagger up there all time of the day. Its good to take up for your friend, when your friend is right. But here, with all the late shows, your buddy is out there sideways. You continue to focus on your education. Don't get sidetracked by trying to determine the appropriate punishment for an obvious disinterested kid. Let the educators earn their payday. Again, you get all the teaching you can get, you will need it in life.
I think you must know so much that you can't hold it all in.(disinterested kid, you know him right). The school is wrong, they are not guiding the kids, they think they own them and its been that way for years.

I am a past student of Anacoco High School and graduated about 6 years ago. I went to Anacoco my entire life. I never attended another school, even though there were times I would have liked to. It was a tough school and the staff were extremely hard to deal with at times. As a student, I felt much like you did. Mr. Beason was always scary to me and some of the teachers gave me the same feeling (Mrs. Haymon)...lol. They never took any crap from us and was always on our case. Punishment to us at that time seemed harsh. Now that I am older, graduated and move further into my adult life, I often think back on those times and I see now why they did what they did. I give them credit for their strict rules and high expectation. Because of them I am a better person. I am more responsible and can handle life a little better. You don't see it now but later you will be appreciative for what they are doing.
