NO fence riding here- I am opposed to alcohol sales in Rosepine. The revenue IS NOT worth the harm done.

well I been in Rosepine all my life. 15 years ago.. there was around 2 or 3 gas stations.. now there is 2 and 1 is a bait shop now.. Solieaus and Dollar General is here.. but beside that nothing h as change.. the economy is very good.. seems like the powers to be arnt getting with the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce to bring business to the south vernon. But for the alcohol being sold .. I am for it.. one one store can far as I know.. the rest are too close to the schools.. Well please allow rosepine to grow and progress..... get out and vote

If they can't buy it in Rosepine they'll buy it in Leesville or Deridder. Sure surprised me when I saw alcoholic beverages being sold in the Deridder Wal-Mart!

I am opposed to alcohol sales in Rosepine and anywhere else. The Preachers and Churches have stop
preaching aganist drinking,smoking,gambling,adul try
and started being feel good Preachers and Churches.
The Town of Rosepine isn"t Govern by the Preachers or the Churches, therefore its the people's choice not the Mayor or council.I was reared in a town where they had honky tonks and juke joints all over the place. I grew up a non drinker. If the Churches would disciple their social drinkers they most likely loose a healthy
number of their people.

. its all good .. I am from here.. there once was Alchohol sales here.. Not sure if there was ever a VOTE To remove it (someone needs to look in to that be another Dilks).. something a city council put a city ordinances to ban it (which they cant do without a vote) but we are in Deridder Shadow so it was removed.do to politcs and religion. ITS BAD..that is the opinion of the old generation.. its time for the city to move out the dark .. doest matter if we have a church on every corner.. its about our Economy .. It we ever want to grow as town/city we need the revenue.. Dont let the religion close your eyes.. Deridder/Leesville/fort polk areas get all our citzens money.. we sit and complain about police mayor .. city workers.. give the city and your children future a chance to grow and progress.. dont let people taint rosepine with harsh words .. Economy Rosepine will benefit with the Sale of Alchohol.. but have restrictions like Deridder and Merryville has..

Big Man/Been Here,
Although more tax revenue for the Town of Rosepine would be nice, I don't belive the sales of alcohol would be a positive way to achieve it. Drawing new businesses to the Town is the answer. I'm not sure, but business growth may be stiffled due to the fact that frontal property along Hwy. 171 is unavailable without high rental or purchase prices, making profits hard to obtain by fledgling businesses. Therefore, no one is willing to start a new business within the Town.
Yes, alcohol may be present in Rosepine, but why promote its availability here? The social problems such as public drunkeness, domestic violence and traffic safety issues associated with alcohol often increase with sales in an area.
The curent Mayor and Town Council are against the sale of alcohol inside town limits. Part of the reason may be due to religious convictions, but I believe they have all seen the devastation that abuse of alcohol can create.
I'm also not sure of the history of alcohol in the town. Is that relevent to today's voting public? History is a record of the past. As Been Here stated past alcohol sales and laws will have to be researched. If or when the issue appears on the Town's ballots, I will vote against it.

Mike .. Not sure if your are from Rosepine or Deridder.. but its the powers in office is the reason why rosepine hasnt grown.. someone needs to take Major Roberts Ideals.. and go to the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and beg for companys to start being built here.. only thing I see ..we are a hub for commuters to deridder and Leesville .. with your ideals Micheal is the reason why Rosepine hasnt grown in 15 years.. very sad ..Put restriction on Alcohol Sales. isnt like we have tons of stores that would cause problems.. no clubs no hard liquer.. very simple.. across from post office and besides weeks pawnshop are good locations very sad we have stores that close at 8 and 9 each night.. People need to realize if they want rosepine to grow and progress and attract business .. we have pool place and another used car lot.. something we dont need.. we need maybe Wendys/Mcdonalds/Burger King/ if they want to consider us commutter town.. it would be very profitable .. but so many with small town ideals for the town to ever grow.. once they cut the snakes head off maybe one day .. Rosepine will be the town they was in the earlier 1900s very sad we allow religion/politics Mix and Dictate our life they do in Rosepine.. but to what Micheal said.. who care what major and city council is against . Only 3 of them are from rosepine (borned and raised) rest dont care whats goes on.. just needs to have their a finger in something (most likely ex military so they want run something). they dont speak for the youth of the town.. new generation will overcome in time..

I am personally agaainst alcohol sales in Rosepine. This source of revenue is not worth the cost of even ONE alcohol related DEATH.This is especially true in regards to our youth and the peer pressure they encounter daily. My cousin's son Mike Barr(a Scholar and Athlete at RHS)died shortly after graduation from RHS. Mike went from being a outstanding baseball player to being an ORGAN DONOR early one morning. Just Say NO.He was 18.

Question for you "Be Accountable" Was Alcohol being sold in the Town of Rosepine then? Well the Answer would be "No". Small Town Minded People is why the Town hasnt grown. Lets ban Cigarettes from Peterson Shell or Ole Mckees Grocery because ihave 2 cousin died of lung Cancer get real. Time for a Change. Time for the Town to get out the Shadow and getting Influence by Politcs Promises and Religious fanatic. I hope people Realize that Leesville and Deridder is Moving on and we are still stuck with 2 gas Station.. Very Sad we havnt grown in 15+ years.. thats something to be proud Mr. Ward and City Council.. No will will talk to Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce. So Please get out and Vote..

No your thinking small town minded. Achohol being sold isnt a bad ideal. I think you have me confused with someone who give a shit. 15+ years the town still hasnt grown and your running for Chief. We dont need any more closed minded people in the town hall. Shit happens life goes on. Alcohol was sold here once and it will again. Wake-up and cut ur sign on so you can see the light .. (like the church across the street who has ask you to cut it off during church days). :+ DWI happens if we sale achohol here or not .. excuses and blame is all around. people are still going to drink and put up still signs outside there house to draw attention to themself. but small minded people again cross breeden with cousin is the reason for your reply

I don't drink alcohol beverages but respect other's right to do so. Jones's sign is his right - your foul language here online is evidence of what is on your mind.Identify yourself -unless you are ashamed of yourself(and you should be),Jones is proud of his stance on his views. After you come out of the closet,go to school and learn to SPELL correctly.Have a great day.
