Inasmuch as I would like to agree with the rationale of walking to assist in weigh loss, I don't know enough of the facts to give my take on the issue. Let me ask you, is it possible these "fat ladies", could have had doctor's orders limiting the time on their little knees? What are the purpose of these carts? Is it potocol to get up and let someoone else have you cart? Is it first come, first served? I would like to know the answer to those questions, so I can get on those "fat asses", myself.

These "fat ladies", could have a medical problem. Who knows. And to suggest that a lady should get up and let a man have her seat is definitely over the top. I'm from the old school, us gentlemen let the ladies have the seat.

I am old school too. Respect! A fat 40 or 50 year old women who cant walk cause her thighs rubs together needs to stay out of carts and let 60 and 70 year old men or women use them. Chances of 3 fat women all having medical issues that cause them to need a cart~ uh yeah BS. The medical issues is fat azz. I see a lot of this as well. BS

I used to think poverty had a correlation with obesity but I think its just people have become less active. I dont have issues with 10 to 30 pounds. Thats easy to put on but anything over that is too much.

I agree that men should let women sit first, but if this gentleman was elderly and really needed the cart, then someone should have offered theirs if they could walk better than him. What has happened to all the manners that I know most of us were brought up with???

I can agree with the thrust of your reply. Its the type of consideration that would serve all of us well. But if this is to be voluntarily, then it leaves no legit reason to complaint if someone else are not willing to evaluate their need for assistance as opposed to someone else's need. Here, we didn't hear the elderly man complaint, the fuss came from someone with a grudge against 'fat ladies'. I have seen skinny one's in the carts also. My point, leave the "fat ladies", be, they need to be loved too.

We have different metabolism. For me, to put on 10 to 30 pounds is about as possible as jumping to the moon. It would not be easy for me, it would be a momumental task.

I do agree with what you are saying, and yes you are right my point was people whether fat or skinny need to be considerate and remember what they were taught....to respect your elders. We also need to not be prejudice against people because they are fat or ugly or whatever. Good point havemercy.....

dont think anyone was being prejutice. i could be wrong, i see the original post as an observation about walmart, women, carts and large people; they just used fat instead of large.

I am in fully agreement with your position. How much wonderful it would be if we would all show more consideration and passion for those less fortunate than ourselves. Nothing would have been evil for the "fat ladies", to consider the elder guy need, nothing would have been wrong with that. But, here's the tricky part, we are humans and we've been taught that we are not our brother keeper. As long as it don't affect me, then I don't care. We lack the desire to care for the least among us.
