Ok so I just came from the meeting at the City golf corse about the aroundabout, and now I am neven more mad at what is going to be put at the location.
if this does not make you upset at the way they spend our tax dollars then you may as well drink your kool aid and wait for the grave.
When I asked the Rep who was there for the DOTD as to how many people it would take being killed by a log truck not doing the speed limit or just not reading the signs, it seamed that the lost of life is already factored in, don't know about you but I don't wish to be a number that is ok to be.
The meeting was also a waste of time as the money is already spent and not a thing anyone does not like is going to matter we are getting the roundabout weather you like it or not.
So if anyone reads this blog if you vote the people out of their office make your voice heard in the State, and tell the people that are in office now that when it time for re-election don't run as you are not going to win.

I know there are some Louisiana politicians I'm not voting for come election time. If you think the present situation with the intersection at 171 and 28 is bad now just wait. The plan they have for the traffic circle is a laughable pile of crap. It looks worse than the one that's in Alexandria. I'll likely be taking other routes to get from 171 to 28 and vise versa.

I was right. The traffic circle is laughable. Depending on how fast traffic is moving and how heavy it is it's hard to tell many times if traffic coming onto the circle is going to follow the highway (171) or cut to Market Basket, 28 or the other side of 171. Add to that many people have vehicles have those automatic turn signals that never work.

Doesn't really matter where traffic is going once they get onto the circle. At that point, they have the right of way no matter where they're going.

It seems to me that the people complaining about the traffic circle are those that do not understand how it works. It is not a complicated concept, perhaps some need to re-read their DMV handbook. Quite frankly I am a fan of it and can think of a few more places they should put them. Nothing is more irritating than sitting at a red light and not a single car from the other direction comes.

Traffic circles when built in an area that understand them can alleviate traffic problems, such as Pennsylvania and even Alexandria (large circle). However, in this case, I have seen more than one log truck tip over because the circle is too small and tight for the larger trucks. I can't even get in the circle with a large truck because they are always in my lane. In planning, they should have made it much bigger. Seems like a huge safety issue.

traffic in leesville to help reduce traffic wow i will suggest this next time i am in houston or la, lol. i dont see the traffic in leesville as gridlock and a circle does not prevent backup.i agree the traffic circle is way to small and if anything is a problem not a solution. it seems more like they got to the end of the road and thought well heck joe bob what we gonna do now? the circle is out of place and too small.

I understand perfectly how it supposed to work. It's too small. You don't see log trucks turning over regularly in Alex on their roundabout. Oh! Wait that's because it's BIGGER!

A truck doesn't flip over because a lane is too small (Not unless there isn't enough earth to support their base). That is physically impossible. Instead they are entering the roundabout at too great of a speed for the type of load they are carrying. Think back to 10th grade physics (I don't know if kids learn physics in 10th grade or not here, that's what it was for me).

I have seen trucks flipped over on multiple lanes and there exist adequate earth to support its base. I haven't experienced any problems in the circle. It could have been larger. We don't handle the volume of traffic Alexandria does, so it might be a little wild to suggest ours should equal, Alexandria. Certain factors are considered in planning these things. If we put these darn cell phones and I-pods down and learn how to drive, we'll find our circle to be a plus. The dummies forgot to put lights. You think they would have planned to have adequate lighting. The city awarded an illegal contract on that work up there. Corruption and Fraud and I reported it to the District Attorney. Illegally awarding a state contract in violation of the city ordinance is a criminal offense and have penalties. But we sit back and allow this mess to go on. What we do is lynch the messenger. Case in point. Any idiot or moron, have enough sense to know that President Obama are not responsilbe for the mess the country is in. But the Republicans have been able to convince those without health care shout, Repeal Obamacare, its going to bust the budget. Me, if I am sick I don't have time to worry about the deficit. Damn the deficit, I need to see the doctor. They say its going to be rationed care. Rationed indicates an availability for everyone, you only get so much. I'll rather rationed healthcare to no healthcare any day. A physical every 40 years beat no physical in 70 years. Just saying.

When i first heard they were putting a circle in i thought "here we go, if they can't obey a light and use common sense how in the world is this going to work"? Well i love the circle i go thru it at least 4 times a day and other than the trucks issue think it works well. the problem here is NO ONE slowing down when getting to the circle. Get off your phones and pay attention to your driving. 9 time out of 10 some driver is not paying attention speeds thru the circle and that's the issue. People there are more important things to fight for than a circle.

Did I read that the City decided to waste $78,000 on decorative light poles when the state was paying for all lighting cost? This is the same administration that told us we were millions in the red and we ended the year with a surplus.$78.000 for poles that should not have cost the city a cent is wasteful. Maybe this is why the city has raised the golf course rates by 30 percent with no improvements in sight and the care is deplorable on the course and in the park.

Things 1-3 for Ms. Mary Sunshine et.al

Thing 1. He is not you.
Thing 2. He is not like you.
Thing 3. He does not want to be like you.

There are many more examples if you need them.

There you have it, three things, good things, Mayor Rose has accomplished.
