No, they conveniently omitted that fact (they have a tendency to do that, you know). I do recall that when his name was first made public, someone posted a query as to why someone so educated and with so much experience had been unemployed for nearly 4 years.....

Did LDL happen to mention that the new City Administrator was denied 20 different positions before Robert Rose hired him? Sounds to me like a "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" kinda of deal. Robert Rose needs some YES people to make all his lies fall into place.

Because No one would hire him for some reason. I'm sure with a little more digging we could find out the reasons.

So would it be safe to say that the good old boys are still working in Leesville or is it just me.

When are others who don't read this blog going to open their eyes and see that Rose is working to not build the city but to make it hard to become a better town.

Granted he can not be blamed for Bobby Hickman and his butt buddies but he can be blamed for the way it was handled and that not only is it going to cost the city dare I say millions but a lot of defense for the court cases getting ready to hit the courts.

Then there is Roses fiction of the city being in a budget down turn of 1.2 million( still looking for that one on the books) and his play to stack the deck with the civil service board, the city counsels stand on questions of transparent government he is running which there is not any transparency that I can see.

Now this new city administrator is telling the people that he is going to fix it all, makes you wonder if there was a real problem and that it was not fixable with Banks who can move back into his city attorneys job to defend the city's up and coming law suits and could there be some conflict at some one during the law suits too which the city may have to hire another attorney to defend the city.

We joke and kid about the old boys and grandfathers and fishbowls holding keys but there us a back door policy being done and "if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours", mentality am I the only one that sees it to say look at that 800 lbs gorilla in the room ?

Well I have found him to be very pro-law enforcement so far but its still pretty early to judge him.

Well, I see the Civil Service Board has overturned Fireman Westfall's suspension because the City, i.e., Colonel Banks, violated his civil rights. And Banks admitted to the board that he did not notify Westfall of the investigation IN WRITING, as the law requires.

One would think that an attorney who was also a Colonel in the U.S. Army would KNOW that all the t's have to be crossed and all the i's have to be dotted. As a lawyer, he should KNOW that even one little misstep in procedure is enough to get your case thrown out.

And perhaps, just perhaps, the Civil Service Board is not as deep in Rose/Banks's pockets as they thought they were.....

Thanks, Cassie. We can always depend on you!

So the secretary of the Civil Service Board has resigned, huh? Another black eye for the Rose administration, it appears. And they want to hire a new secretary who will be paid out of the Board's monthly allowance of $750? Good luck.

Has anyone heard anymore about the 1.2 million dollar deficit the Town is supposed to have had? Just went of the radar screen. Also what about the Golf course deficit..Has someone been bought off from discussing these issues?

Just look at the main entrance, nothing by the community has been done compared to the improvements that have been completed on post, military have lived here for five years in addition look at the retire rehire within the education system of Vernon perish simply a joke.

That's a pretty substantial allegation to make. Can you back it up with proof and/or examples? Do you know of specific instances where military personnel are charged more than civilians are charged for the same thing? It would seem to me that if the military is being gouged, then we all are being gouged, since we all shop at the same places. As for WalMart and Lowe's having different pricing than other areas, I'd love to have an example or two of that, also. I imagine that, for the most part, Lowe's and WalMart's pricing is dictated by corporate headquarters. After all, WalMart didn't become the largest retailer in the history of the world by letting each local manager set his own prices!

yes- You are absolutely correct. There has not been any modernization or updating to the surrounding area of Ft Polk. That is wrong, you have one of if not the largest employer in the state and all these people can do is get rich off them, then wonder why everyone goes out of town for shopping??? The education hiring is the largest good ole boy network around this area. It's a joke that a phone call to Billy Bob's brother will get you a job in the school system because Joe Bob knows your mother, brother or uncle!!! It holds good employees from advancing, been that way for ever and a day.
