amazing the amount of customers who actually went to mayfest and enjoyed it. in my personal opinion, the alkyhol, helped increase the volume of people, food consumption, and overall spirit of the mayfest extravaganza.

so now i am wondering.......... should we have junefest? uh,no. well how about septemberfest? nope, not septemberfest either.......... OCTOBERFEST? now we are talking. leesville needs a octoberfest complete with those chevy chase uniforms from european vaction. men could drink the alkyhol, and the women could .......... well drink the alkyhol too.

leesville apparantly survived with little or no major incidents this year, although mardi gras would have been a better venue for the alkyhol, mayfest survived! we didnt have to burn any virgins or make any unneccessary human sacrifices as we experienced the much more pleasurable sights and sounds of the yearly festival.

now i am sure someone was offended at some point by the alkyhol, i just hope they can get over it before the octoberfest foam party.

thank you leesville for attempting to actually make mayfest enjoyable for all vernon residents, regardless of there evil ways. thank you mr crooks and dr. c lord for having the cajones to stand by a great decision.

it may not be "contraband days" but we can hope cant we?

now lets discuss that much needed music park and zz top before they get to old to see them play!

The best part of Mayfest - watching the little, old long-skirt crowd get spun-up in a tizzy over the "alkyhol".

Oh yea what a sight. I went fri and sat. You know, one gal one day and the other for the next (I can't give up those BJ's, but use my bad back back up plan for less putang).
P.S. Anyone want some damn roosters? Seriously. Why are they yacking in the dark? The neighbor won't notice.

We went on Friday evening and had a great time. My dad had a couple of beers, but I didn't have any because I'm not paying $5 for a cup of beer. Lol. I didn't see anyone in a tizzy over the alkyhol. Please give more details on who was in a tizzy! I love gossip!:)

Any drunks stumbling around? Fights? Did they really have a desinated area or what? We can't depend on LDL to do a follow up about the alcohol.

If the price of a cup of beer was $5 as stated, I am absolutely certain not many cups were sold. Who could afford to get tipsy at that price. It would cost a beer drinker 200 dollars to get tipsy.

No ZZ Top, but they're trying. Will it survive another year? As long as Mr. Stone is running in the stampede, I'll be there. And I'm gonna have a beer.

I just drove passed there. Sadly I couldn't stop but it looked like folks were having a great time. I didn't see any of that sex drugs and rock and roll so many of people were afraid of!!! No drunks in the streets. No lit cigarettes in the eyes of children or bible burnings. I think we are safe.

I had a great time at MayFest this year, the smell of different foods everywhere, and all the bands were awesome. I posted pictures in the photos section on Topix

Thanks for sharing your pics. I didn't see you in them, ha. And the only person who I reconized was the band teacher, Mr. Davis. I didn't go, it was too hot for me. I have Irish & Dutch in me and I still burn with sunblock.

Wtf? There is a place called a bar where you can get a beer or scotch. I see maybe six strip clubs on a main highway going to Polk and you all make a big deal over beer? Can you spell hypocrit? The beer makes money, if people are in a public area and make disturbance from the beer put them in jail more money. If there is a wreck from drinking its the same as pulling out from one of the many strip clubs and having a wreck. No different. I guess Leesville has not had an industrial revolution followed by modernization. For the bible people the good book states a little wine is good for the soul. That applies to beer and other.
