Stateeducation agencies seek community input
Southwest Georgians will have an opportunity to weigh in with their opinions about the future of state public education during a community forum at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Lee County High School Ninth Grade Campus cafeteria, located at 370 Leslie Highway.

Cutting teachers is not the way to go when we consider our state budget. As a retired teacher I can tell you that your better teachers will begin leaving if the classroom ratio rises. You cannot teacher children in huge classes. If you want just a babysitter for the day there are plenty available but good teachers want to make a difference not just draw a paycheck. Cut the crazy things from the budget like buses carrying 20 students, admin salaries, paper for copiers(good teachers don't need a million busy worksheets),and admin assistant and office staff. What school needs 4 secretaries in an office
