Excellent news!!! Glad to hear that a judge has the common sense to do whats right. But it's sad that it had to go that far. I know the Lake Delta Fire Dept is happy with the news. I think they and Taberg were put in a hard situation. By the way the Lee Fire Comms. are not in charge of Lake Delta, as the news said, they are they're own entity.

Today, my fire department called for an ambulance. Then canceled the ambulance....then called for an ambulance. Are they stupid?

LCFD has 3 EMT's. One of them is a paramedic and the other are basic.

Yes there are three EMTís. But the level of response that LCFD is allowed by the State due to the collective certification of members is still limited to First Aid only. Not ALS or BLS/EMT. Not even BLS/First Responder, which is a 72-hour course. They are First Aid/First Responder (American Red Cross) thanks to an 18-hour class that was arranged by the Commissioners last fall and slack was awarded due to time constraints and the certificates were issued after only two 4-hour classes.

Question: There is currently an Officer Training class at Taberg... are any LCFD members taking it?

HHMMM.. Now you got me wondering....I have been a member for nearly 20 years.. Though I am not a BAKER I look up to Kenny with much respect....URAFG Sound as you are trying to descredit those of us who have had hours and hours of state training .. And not for nothing FRED LAPMAN Syas we dont have proper training???? Hell he trained most of us.. I have countless Training Certificates with his signature on them....So If you call that not certification your lacking in judgement there....As for the copies of the checks you have posession of how could you have ever gotten something like that unless you were a member or former member yourself???

HEY LCFD-MEMBER

THOSE CHECKS ARE PROOF OF SOMETHING NOT RIGHT. MAYBE YOU SHOULD START QUESTIONING THE BAKERS AND STOP TAKING EVERYTHING THEY SAY AS GOSPEL. ONLY 21 ACTIVE MEMBERS WITH 3 EMTS AND THEY CAN ONLY BE USED FOR FIRST AID? WTF.

THE MORE I READ HERE, THE MORE I THINK THAT MAYBE THE COMMISSIONERS ARE RIGHT.

No I'm not discrediting you. Congratulations on your achievements and hold your head high for seeking out the education that you have!

And that is all that a BLS requires

BLS and first responder is all that is necessary to save a life! The few extra minutes it would take for LD or Taberg to reach the Towns's most northern reaches could make a huge difference in a medical or fire response. For that reason we do away with the fire department!? Not sensible in any way you look at it! What were these public "officials" thinking? Not for the best of the tax payers, for sure! For their tax dollars, Lee residents deserve better. And why should Annsville, Western, West leyden, or any other neighbors' taxes pay for Lee's fire/EMS coverage, when LC already has a fine department - trained and with fine equipment. Just to get at the Bakers for personal reasons? For those of you out of the area - there is a lot more to this picture than you are getting from urafg - Arkansas? I don't think so! He's obviously a Commissioner himself, or close to one. He's not telling the whole story! It's the same whitewash the public gets at the 15 minute meetings! Yeah, that's the length of a monthly Commissioner meeting! Forget the Open Meeting Law. Forget the First Amendment! It's the Law according to Lampman, Wilczak, Pritchard, and Thompson! Training and firefighter-safety is a cover-up watchword. Observe our firefighters at a scene. They work like a well-oiled machine. They know what they are doing - safely and calmly. Ask anyone who has had the occasion to call them in an emergency. A local Law Enforcement officer just recently told me they are "short-handed and short-staffed" - so they can't cover the area for vandalism after I made recent vandalism report. But our Commissioner's meetings are covered by law enforcement. Like the night they closed the department. The show of force was insulting!!!! And who paid for that - including a State Police fly over?!?!? And a police escort home from the meeting? And a police escort to a neighboring meeting later in the week. Come on folks. This is a circus - a situation created by the Commissioners themselves. Nobody is saying the FD is perfect, but the Commissioners have blown the training and safety issue waaaaaaaay out of proportion. There are other issues which should and could be addressed - instead of "How will we tighten the noose a little tighter on the Bakers?" And when they couldn't reach the Bakers, or the fire department, they took on the Town to "make them pay." Stay tuned - it's not over yet!

Very nice post....You are absolutely right.. Little did we all know our Tax DOllars paid for that escort....Each sherriff that was there that night was getting paid 60 something dollars an hour...It cost the tax-payers over $4000...So much for our tax dollars going for fire related services....And URAFG I got to say You have caused the most trouble on these threads you say you arent trying to but obviously you love the attention...As far as some of the things you have posted you could have falsified them yourself for all we know and you just keep sucking people in....Be a man state your name....

MY Training

United States

#19 Oct 15, 2007
in one year:
Fire Fighter 1
ICS 100, 200, 300 and 700 and ICS Safety Officer
HAZMAT Awareness
HAZMAT First Responder
HAZMAT Safety Officer
Incindent Safety Officer
AED\CPR
First Aid for the First Responder
EVOC
HAZMAT Weapons of Mass Destruction
NIMO Fighting Gas and Electrical Fires
Fire Police

That is to name a few. Not to mention the Drills and other one day courses that I have taken.

So don't critisize me or any other member about damn training because I am one of the least trained members and you can see to the amount of training I actual do have. So to sit here and listen to you people call me untrained is insulting non the less. But even more is you don't even have the facts to make your stupid comments.
And this is volunteer, my family was real pleased at the postponed vacations and stuff because I had to attend training.

If (big IF, that your tax dollars were involved) they got extra pay for that night, consider how much more they deserved to be paid to protect Taberg and Lake Delta fireman from Lee Center Fireman. Then write your check accordingly
