I see only one new member and it's the wife of a current member who goes around saying how she hates Netcong school. Just another follower up there that will continue taking things away from the kids. Just what we needed another person to say yes mam behind more than half the other members.

The only "Nutcong" is the curent board president! She has nothing better to do with her life than hate teachers and upset parents. That "Nut" needs to go. I say "In with the new, and out with the old!" Netcong voters should get rid of the BOE president and let people who really care about the kids and not trouble, get elected.
People need to remember that she was voted out years ago. That's when she tried to get her daughter a job and made a deal with the former super, Mr. D. Read the minutes (which are not available on the website.....I wonder why!)of June/July 2009. She thinks the people of Netcong are stupid. Show her the door, I say!!!!!

So I heard that at last nights meeting ds resigned before even becoming a board member. That must have been some favor she owed bd. Love how this town works. Power hungry people call in favors to block another parent from getting on the board. Shame on both of you.

May not be illegal but sure sounds unethical!
Vote BD Out

Too bad about ds. Wake up Netcong voters and vote BD out for good. She was voted out once, it can happen again. Stand together and get her off the board so the board can actually work for the school and the kids. Don't let her bully teachers and scare off people who really care about the students of Netcong.
VOTE!

I must disagree. We need spineless people like TM off the board. He is the one that got the board in that financial mess this year. BD is the one that got them out of it.
She is a little rough but so what, get a thicker skin. She gets things done.

We also have a board member on there who has literally NO education and can't even keep her own house and backyard in check (looks like a dump down from the school). Yet she is making important decisions regarding our children's education and a mutlimillion dollar budget. Makes no sense to me.

Because it hasn't been changed for decades, the Netcong BOE is composed of 9 members. In addition, Netcong has two seats on the LV Board. Frankly, there are not 11 persons qualified in our 3,000 person town to serve on a school board.

If you want a quality board and meaningful elections, the BOE should be reduced to 5 members.

Exactly how many board members are qualified? And how so? What makes a qualified board member?

The voters should decide who is qualified in real, competitive elections where there is a choice. There are too many uncontested elections or people picked by insiders to fill unexpired terms. Competition is good. Let's have a five or at most a seven person BOE. Make them earn their seats and make them accountable to the voters.

Being you said this town has about 3,000 people, let's say half of them were of age to be on the board. With 9 members on the board, that means the board makes up .6% of half the town (or .3% of the whole town). That's way less than 1% of the town population. The number of board members shouldn't be much of a concern. The number of people who RUN should be.
