Good im so glad the jury wants her to get the death penalty. They should cut her open and see how she likes it. C'mon, did she really think she could get away with another womans baby.

Execution, indeed. Now we'll wait 20 years for it to happen.

I am truly surprised she did not get probation and released. This is usually how these types of cases end, with the murderous woman walking free on some bogus sexual or domestic violence defense! Most all women (and men) who experience sexual abuse or domestic abuse do NOT go on in life to become a killer. I am glad the jury was smart enough to see through her bogus defense and hopefully other jury's will follow suit with these dangerous husband, child and women killers. That is all SHE is , another evil killer.

Maybe our society is starting to see the evil we have entered into the souls of our women by allowing them to vote and become more like men.

Our Founding Fathers were not so stupid afterall...They knew women would attain the evil of men if given the rights, responsibilities and privilages of men.

What next draft our women to war!!! Don't laugh it's in the works folks, since our nations feminists are mostly lesbians and are lobbying for such radical change for our currently overworked all volunteer force. I guess equal is really starting to get a real equal sign (=),in our Nation, as it is, in mathmatics!

What kind of people are you? This is a tragedy. I think being sexually abused by her stepfather, and mentally abused by her mother was just as awful. The death penalty is an archic form of punishment that should be abolished. Revenge is never the answer. Asking for someones life is not Christian if you ask me. Jesus would be appauled by your behavior. Maybe this is a reflection of a society that is in decay due to tax cuts.

Maybe if we have stiffer penalties and swifter executions, these things probably would not happen.

This woman is truely nuts, I new her and am ashamed that I did, she is a fruit cake and likes to fool the system, her whole family is just as crazy as she is. Death is not good enough for the crimes she commited, assaination would have been cheaper.

And rightfully so. I find it terribly tradgic that such a beautiful like was taken. How dare Lisa take the poor childs mother from her.

I only wish that Lisa would face the same horrifying death that poor Bobbi did. THat would truely be justice served

What? Please keep this kind of thinking in Canada. We have too many who make no sense in the US already.

I think life in prison would have been the more appropriate punishment. Using archaic barbarian tactics to punish someone for using barbaric tactics is counter-productive.

OK. And through taxation, YOU get to pay for her lodging, food, medical care, etc. etc. for the rest of her life.

By the way, you'd better check you grasp of language. Revenge and due consequences are two ENTIRELY different things.

Ok. I'd be willing to do that...it's not like taxpayers don't already...and to make this issue about taxes is not getting at the heart of the issue. I just don't understand how a 'civilized' society can have state-sponsored executions. And I certainly don't understand how one can even make a valid argument that taking a person's life is somehow MORE moral than sparing it.

I didn't make it about taxation. Nor did I ever say that taking a person's life is more moral than sparing it. I am saddened that this is even an issue, but unfortumately we live in a society that creates just such conundrums. And I get tired of hearing people cry out for more compassion for the perpetrator than that perp ever had for their victim's or their victim's families.
Frankly, I'm not 100% on either side of the death penaly issue. I don't know where the grey area really lies. But I do believe that there are crimes so heinous, that show such unredeemable abberent thinking that to continue to "punish" the perpetrator with lodging, food, and medical care for the rest of their natural days seems to me to be wrong on a lot of levels.
Do I believe this particular woman deserves the death penalty? I really don't know.

Well, you kind of did make it about taxation. I made a comment that she should be given life in prison instead of the death penalty. You said I should, through taxation, pay for her food, lodging, medical expenses, etc.

The point about moral/not moral was mine. I didn't mean to imply that it was a comment you made.

And I think its a good sign in a society when we can show compassion to one another, particularly when we don't deserve it.

Very good point, and I agree with you. For the most part. There are those, however, that take loving the unlovely to the point of removing due consequences. I'm pretty certain that this isn't where you're headed with it.

By the way, Moe. How nice to be on Topix and keeping the debate to the issue instead of making it a personal mud slinging fight! Thank you. Too many people on here would start a reply with something to the effect of: "You #@()^ moron!" or worse.

I'm all for punishment. Your actions have consequences, and these criminals need to learn that. However, I would stop short of torture and killing. A "civilized" society shouldn't be out executing its own citizens.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
