She is not the first 13 year old in the area to get pregnant and she sure will not be the last. Until we start teaching our children about sex and about birth control at the age of 10-12 this is going to keep happening. This without a doubt is the most stupid post I have seen on here period. Unless the father of the baby is over 18 NO CRIME has taken place. If your children will be honest with you and you ask the right question you will find that 50% of the 13 year old's are having sex. Is it right, NO, but that is what is taking place today. I do blame the parents for sure, they should have had their daughter on birth control but this in NOT something you can prosecute them for.

Not true at all. The boy doesn't have to be 18. It's a crime if he is 3 years her senior. Felony. If parents knew it was going on its also a crime for them. Know your facts before you post bullshit "facts".

I stand corrected: The Law

Like most other states, Virginia makes allowances for cases in which two minors are below the age of consent, but close to the same age. The law recognizes that such relationships are not exploitative, and are therefore not what age of consent laws are designed to prevent. In Virginia, a person over the age of 15 can consent to sex with another person who is no more than 3 years older.

For minors between the ages of 13 and 15, Virginia is also fairly lenient. If a person less than 3 years older has sex with a minor aged between 13 and 15, the punishment is a moderate fine, with no possibility of jail time.

If every church in Russell County would chip in a little we could have a wonderful center for our teens. It's called saving the next generation.
