Perhaps you should not trash the barrell when only a few apples go bad, ie Wal Mart, schools, drinkable water, roads, jobs, no trash buried in the County- how short the memory of people and how quick to jump on the band wagon.

It's about time, and it really is only the tip of the iceberg......keep digging. Thank you for doing a good job to whomever was doing the investigating.

I think the best statement for Russell Co. is the metal recycling establishment that is the first thing you see when you are exiting Washington Co. coming into Russell Co. A real statement for progress and how to allow and let a business be run. Every business in the county should be run that way. It is a good way to attract more people and businesses to the county.

Folks with houses still under contract are worried. They don't know if or in what way this may affect them.

You just keep believing that crap. Take off those blinders boy. There's not enough beds available in Abingdon if they arrested all the corrupt people involved. You know it and so do many more. I hope they get all who have unjustly enriched themselves and their families through the abuse and ripping off of the taxpayers. I'm sure you get the drift. Let's hope the big boys at the top don't get by. It's been acceptable for way too long here with the good old boys. All I have to say is "Thank You LORD!!!!!! Oh, one more thing, let's don't forget about all those temp jobs of the past and who really profitted frm them!!!!!!

My thoughts, is that everyone(unless you know they are honest), that are in office should be voted out.People of this county should stick together for one time.Stop voting to please your "party" !

Recipients of the flood houses that were built from the ground up,(some on newly developed LAND)=
A lot of money for local businesses such as Lowe's for building materials.
Income for local contractors
The recipients become AEP customers, PSA customers, phone customers, Cable or Dish subscribers, as well as pay an average of $300 or more per year (per house)in Real Estate taxes into the Russell County Coffers. OMG yes...worst thing ever!
Still u dont get it

the hardworking taxpayers don't owe housing (most times free of charge) to anyone. You should have to work for what you have, if you don't work for it, then do without. you must be one of the sorry ass 47%

You are the one who doesn't get it. I was talking about the FLOOD HOUSES. Those were replacement homes for people who lost their OWN homes in the flood, didn't have flood insurance, and didn't have an extra 40-50 thousand laying around to fork over to have another house built. Those people did work for what they had, you nitwit & mother nature took it away in one fell swoop. Maybe you'll understand if you're ever the victim of a natural disaster.
