The man has his flaws, but he isn't that bad. No officers have been killed on his watch as chief or as commissioner. There is always room for change and growth, however. I guess we will see how all this turns out.

That wasn't my point though. I was just stating that in his tenure we havn't lost an officer to a death in the line of duty which does show good training in that area. I admitted he had flaws one of which being his ego I agree with you there. Can't fault him for every little thing that went wrong but I think a change might be good. Who knows. We'll see.

no officers have been killed, but how many innocent people have lost their lives?? dont you think that matters? we live in a city where we cant even trust the police to protect us because we are under the authority of an IDIOT!

2 people have lost their lives in an almost 20 year span of leadership including being chief and commissioner. Neither of the two incidents having anything to do with his direct leadership. Humans are allowed to make mistakes even the ones with badges. I did not in any way mean to discount the two lives that were lost because both were tragic incidents. A police officer's life is in no way more important than a citizen's life. I was just trying to point out that the training of the Lebanon Police officers is solid even though human errors are made. I do think a fresh new leadership will renew faith in the department because it is really sad when citizens feel as if they cannot trust police officers.

i agree & disagree. necessary procedures were overlooked when a veteran returned and was immediately instated into the police force. where were the necessary psych evaluations he needed? i can't sit here and say it wouldn't have happened, but this current situation could have turned out differently had proper consults & evaluations been carried out. just my opinion, and I agree a new leader would be great. but that doesn't mean that i'll begin to trust them. They've done too much that has gone unsaid for too long. But I am in the works of getting that resolved. I know that we do have some G00D cops, but most have left because of Weaks. You can ask them that and they'll tell you. Its sad.

First, being a Christian has nothing to do with the job performance as our police chief..Nor does it matter if he's a good father or not..I am not really too sure about his job performance as a police chief, but I do remember a gentleman being shot by an officer when they had gone to the wrong house..I also know for a fact, there's been a child who was abused by someone and the police knew this, but didn't act to investigate a thing..interesting isn't it? Interesting that an abuser can drop their child off with bruises and the mother reports it and within two days you've closed the case without investigating a thing..I bet you remember me telling you, my child better not be dropped off like this again..still holds true today even though this abuser abandoned his son almost two years ago..You better be glad he did, cause I would only be able to take this in my own hands..Police are supposed to protect and serve, but when you have federal grant money paying people off to keep quiet, we've got a real problem..A problem where somebody just might get hurt, and I assure you it won't be me or my son!! Just sayin'..Time to clean up the corruption..
