Does anyone know about a book- maybe titled case of three macon county men? I've heard its about a marijuana find years ago and that some boys got killed. It sounds like a good book. Has anyone read it? Is it bASED ON A REAL STORY OR SOME LEGEND?

I have read the book. It is called The missing county Men. You can find it at the trousdale library. It is about a man and two teen boys find a farm that is growing pot and go to try to steal some. They get caught are held hostage and well Im not going to say anymore. Very good book. If you live in Hartsville you may recognize some names and it may make you very angry as did me.

Yes it is a true story. I worked for a while with the brother of one the boys that was killed. It happened on the Ward farm and I was a kid there in Hartsville when it happened and remember it well.

~ I have this book, it belonged to my great aunt which was the Mother, grandmother and aunt to the ones murdered. It doesn't matter how many times I read this book it is like I have never read it before. I get chills all over my body just thinking about it. The step father is the one who wrote the book and it is very vivid in detail!!!! This is something I hold close to my heart, I know it meant alot to my family and my father as well. The Missing Macon County Men is the name of it..The boys may be gone, BUT they will never be forgotten!!!!!! No matter where they may have been or what they may have been doing, they damn sure didn't deserve to be brutally murdered or burried alive..........

I agree two were 17 years old. Horrible.
Can't imagine the grief of the family.

One of the perps did spend time, but in my opinion, not enough time was spent for all concerned, if you get my drift. That is one bad thing that happened in Hartsville, that breaks my heart. Another is the supposedly suicide death of
Thomas Oldham.

The sad part about this entire thing is that a few men may have paid a small amount of time for their involvement in this crime, but the man whose gun killed these boys is stil walking around like he always has with his cocky little attitude! He will get his in the end..I hear he has cancer and all I can say is Karma is a Bitch!

~ The book is called "THE MISSING MACON COUNTY MEN", I have it---as I said earlier on this post, this was my family. It is a very detailed book and a very explanatory publication of the events that took place. Not many were published. But this one will forever remain in my family.
