If Rogers get's elected Craighead can do anything he want's too by having Joe Haynes, Rob Cisterino and his tie breaking vote it will be higher taxes for sure and a whole lot more wasteful spending. I did not hear it but I was told he said he was going to bring up the Arena crap again, I don't know what he is getting in exchange for his efforts, but it must be alot.

I know this person briefly Richard Rogers and he preaches the good of Craighead and Pody and have been to the events. Richards only had about 10 people most of them being the help and know first hand he had his friend buy, cook and serve all the food. then because the affair went south, he fired his whole crew, which were all friends working for free anyway. Lame!!! He owes friends money and trys to look big but got an elderly man to sell him his dead wifes car he wanted to keep but sold it to him thinking he was doing a good deed giving him transportation and then he sold it to put money in his pocket. this is leader material, may volunteer for the elderly but beware, he is all said in here and more.

I just want to say as a citizen and my opinion I would not be voting for Richard Rogers. He is very manipulative. He may go to church but that by know means makes him some christian man, A lady that attends the church hes going said he only started showing up when he started trying to run for city council and i spoke to some people they said they didnt even know he lived in the community until he started running they never saw him...but he knows about community? He never volunteered until he started trying to run. I also know he has 3 children that are grown now that he never saw grow up or wanted anything to do with but he has a since of family? he also been arrested many times. thats city council material?

I have studied Craighead's 0.5 cent sales tax proposal. I think its the best idea. Lets face it, no one wants higher taxes, but Lebanon's taxes have been reduced for 22yrs while city boundaries and services have expanded along with rising prices for these services. I find it remarkable that Lebanon has no debt and 8 million in reserves. The problem is paying for expanded city services with no expanded revenue and having to dip into the reserves to balance the budget. Raising the sales tax a half cent and allowing visitors on our 5 l - 40 exits to Lebanon help pay for this is much better than raising property taxes on residents. People need to realize that these services cost more money to provide the city with each year. In addition, city employees have not had a raise in years while their insurance premiums are going up, which is a pay cut. I think its a reasonable considerstion Craighead is proposing.

I would agree with you if tax dollars was not used to maintain a park at the tune of 120K a year a sports club were the employees are on the city payroll and make donation's to senior center out of gas department funds and Craighead Damned and determined to ram a hockey arena down our throat that will at best only be popular for a couple of years and it will be a drain of tax money then, when money is tight you don't spend money for entertainment.

l completely agree with fiscal responsibility. We can agree with the Floyd Center. I hate that public money is spent on something the private sector should provide. I dont mind the park. Maybe maint. costs could be looked at. The city does need a recruiter for development. It would've been great to have had Providence here instead of MT. Juliet. An attraction to the city is a good thing. If people hate the arena project then fine, but an attraction of some kind lifts a lot of burden on property owners in Lebanon for the cost of the city. The point is the cost of living goes up along with the cost of services, but Lebanon's revenue collection has declined. Therefore, the budget shortfall and dipping into savings. Otherwise Lebanon will be like LaVergne and raise taxes all at once after twenty years of not doing so, while finding ourselves in debt because no one is electable if they mention the "T" word, and blaming the mayor who has to take action that should've been done gradually. This city has been fiscally sound compared to other cities, such as LaVergne who is 30 million in debt right now and high property taxes that have been raised. Holding our council and mayor to be fiscally responsible is a must, so is being a realist on the cost of city provided services and taxes to pay for them.

We would have had the providence mt Juliet got but that wonderful mayor before crackhead did not fill the need to meet the developers he sent a stand in so there you go and to say you are taking money from your reserves to carry on the business of the city well duh why would you want to borrow money if you have it really I guess we need more people to think as you do if we actually knew the real shortfall amount then most people would be understanding per our current mayors comments at the last council meeting we are only gonna need a fraction of the money from the reserves that we borrowed from ourselves to balance the budget not real smart here but looks as if the wool has been pulled over some people's eyes and good heavens I'd you ask for a direct answer you are hurting the progress of our fair city some people need to wake up here thanks

All those speaking of me it is funny you do not use your real names and do not have your facts straight. I am no ones puppet. I am my own man and I owe who what and when. I have never heard such nonsense in my life. I am a man who is not perfect as no man is I have made mistakes in my life but my life has changed and I do lots of good for the city ... I am secretary of The Lebanon Beautification Commission ,, I volunteer at the Lebanon Senior Citizens Center and MCHRA doing meals on wheels. I spent countless hrs to redo a fish pond this summer for the seniors and the Sellars Funeral home fish now reside there due to their unfortunate incident. I am working with the past administration and current and listening to the views of the citizens in my ward and the entire city to bring in jobs and economy and I have never said one thing about raising taxes.... Obviously anyone can come on a forum put an anonymous name and slander someone. Judge not lest be judged and I have only one judge and that is God. So thanks for all the hateful input from folks that probably do not know me or have some personal vendetta against me. I am easy to get to know and do not believe everything u read. I guarantee no one will work harder for our city than myself and I get things done instead of talking about them. So folks I hope u will consider the man I am now and the things I can do for this city. If Don Fox does support me thats his right he lives in my ward and he was a great mayor for fifteen years and brought in ten thousand jobs and I believe he beat Lanny Jewells father twice for Mayor. So if u want to go back to Bobby Jewell politics go ahead and believe he is the best man because to me I think I am. I do not live at home with my parents,,,, My parents are no longer with me. I have never lived at home since I graduated and I do not need anyone to speak for me I do that myself. So all the good citizens of Lebanon that are not Haters of all things.... Choose who u want for ward one based on facts not on ficticious lies on a forum. Contact me if u want the truth and what I stand for. Have a blessed night and Long Live Lebanon the City I love.

And have do u know me and why not tell who u are that way I know who to say is telling a lie. I am not a puppet as I mentioned I am a man who will work hard for our city and will not be a follower. I am a leader taught by a very intelligent man and advised by some great folks.. I make any decisions based on the good of the city not because someone tells me to do anything. That was my mothers job and she passed away in 2004. Anything else to say? Any questions? Or are u just on here to slander me as well? Real Classy.

I have been going to Poplar Hill Baptist since I was in third grade ... I started attending again in 2009 long before I began to even consider running for city council. So who is the woman in the church? My best friends Uncle is the pastor and his wife is his Aunt and I resent anyone saying I go to church for the sake of a city council race. If I had to choose representing someone who makes a comment like this over going to church well it answers itself. God Bless u whomever u are but u obviously do not know me or once again a Lanny supporter slandering. You notice that none of my supporters slander him because I try to avoid dirty tactics. If dirty tactics wins races then I am not the man for the job. If getting things done for the good of lebanon wins races then I am the man.

LIES! Ask me I have my name out here and being slandered. Ask me any questions. But if you have the nerve enough to write these things then why not have the courage to say who u are instead of hiding behind fake names with fake opinions and no knowledge of me or what or who I stand for or support unless u read my announcement for candidacy or I have spoke to you. A wise man once told me and my classmates never ASSUME anything and u know the rest. I am laughing as I read this ridiculous stuff about me knowing it is all supporters of Lanny Jewell and detractors of people who actually are doing good for the city instead of slandering others. Ask me I am an open book. Have I been perfect. NO! Is anyone perfect NO! The only one without sin is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and thats the only one I have to answer to. Thank you for you hatred input spewing hate is not classy nor godlike. I will pray for you.

Check my sign and it will say u are a coward hiding behind a fake name.... check the bottom it says paid for by candidate. Check the facts and u will see I do not support any tax increase. Check my history I grew up poor on a farm in Statesville and support the people who have to work and pinch pennies. Something a lot of silverspoons handed businesses by their fathers do not have to do. Check the facts and yes Don Fox supports me and I am proud he does. He is a good man. A veteran... a leader and a christian with a wonderful wife and family and I am glad to call him a friend. Check the facts and quit spreading lies. It was not even funny. HA HA. Slander away. I have God and prayer and some good folks who do not stoop to levels like the ones who are talking about me. Tell me something true that the people do not know. U cant because u do not know me. God Bless u and i will pray for u ... God Bless Lebanon TN.
