I want to echo Kathy's appreciation for the organizers, and supporters of Peggy's memorial service. Those kind, loving people delivered respect, honor, and love to Peggy, and her family. What a truly great group of people!
Kathy and I arrived at the church at the same time, and I don't think either one of us knew what to expect when we entered the church. I was overwhelmed by the many people that took time out of their busy schedules to pay their respects to the Reber family. The pews were filled with loving, caring people, and I was so honored to stand united with everyone present.
It was truly a beautiful tribute to the memory of Peggy, and the family and friends that mourn her.
Jan. 25th Kathy, and her family, were embraced by the community, and they will never stand alone again.
It was a good day in many ways, and I am glad I could be of assistance.
The journey is not over, and that was the first giant step in the right direction.

I don't see why ask that? peggy should have a service every morning until they bring her killer to justice. And once again no one wants to hear people talk about what happened to peggy. BUT PEGGY HAD TO GO THREW IT. So bring this murder back to light seeing a killer brought to justice is not going to hurt anyone but the killer. And Peggy's family has been waiting for peace for Peggy for 40 years. She will rest in peace when her killer is not on the streets!!!

How come no one writes openly about the poor lifestyle of Peggy's mother? Why don't you folks hold her accountable for being a drunk and drugged woman that kept multiple dangerous male company. I mean, she left that little girl alone for days. Trashy.

That was the topic back in 1968 there is no doubt that peggys mother was far from mother of the year. But you have lost your mind if you feel what her mother did means no justice for a 14 year old girl. Her twin was spit on and shit on for years. And it's time that the killer gets the same treatment the Reber's got all these years. As for trashy what do you call a grown man who kills a 14 year old girl the way he did? Do you just let him get away with it. When you say ENOUGHT just think about what Peggy said!!!!

Keep the focus where it belongs...a child killer escaped justice, and continues to walk free.
Fact.
THE KILLER is the truly bad person in the picture, and THAT is where the blame for Peggy's death rests.
HE inflicted the morbid details of this crime upon a child, and she had to endure them. No, we can not turn our back on the facts because we don't like the facts.
Certainly Peggy had a funeral in 1968, and an investigation into her murder...both left a little bit to be desired.

I've been following Michelle Gooden's and the other's quest to bring justice to Peggy Reber. I am sorry to say I did not attend the memorial, because of a work conflict. I have read the previous comments and need to speak out now. Peggy was a year ahead of me in school, and I remember when she was murdered. I have thought of how if her life hadn't been taken by the savage beast, that we may have met in high school we may have been friends. I also thought about what has happened in my life since her murder and I think about how Peggy never got to experience all the highs and lows of high school, how she never got a chance to marry and have children. She might have been a nanny now, and have all the joy I do when I am with my grandchildren. Why is it that when something is tough so many people try to blame others for what happened, or they say let it go let's move on. Peggy didn't have June Cleaver for a mother, truth be told her mother didn't deserve the title of Mother. But, her mother was tried and convicted. She was run out of town. meanwhile the man that took Peggy's life, erased her future was allowed to live his life and continues to live his life...free. I admire Michelle and all the other supporters for all the hard work they are doing to bring justice for Peggy. God Bless you All.

How can anyone honestly say enough. Not only does Peggy and her family deserve JUSTICE but so do the current citizens and children in this county. It's not fair that our officials care more about a sadistic killer than they do about our beautiful children.
Yes Michelle there is only 1 person to blame for the murder of Peggy. But there are many people to blame for the LACK OF JUSTICE for Peggy, the Reber family and all Lebanon Countians.
I hope that grandma and Mike never have to find out 1st hand what the Reber's have gone through.

It is quite possible that this woman could add a comment on to Kathy's letter, and STILL not understand what's taking place right before her eyes.
It is OBVIOUS that she wants the subject of Peggy Reber's death to just go away.
"Mike" wants to dig into the details of child abuse, rather than a child's murder.
Neither have any desire to deliver justice to a murdered kid.
For Mike - you're right!!! Peggy's mom was a real gem! She was a true party girl. Hey....do you realize WHO she was entertaing with her party skills? Oh, they weren't all drunken, low-life druggies....FAR FROM IT!!!!
She left her daughter VULNERABLE, but "SHE" did NOT yeild that bow.
Could we hold HIM accountable for HIS actions?

Mike did you know mary? well I know that answer, you didnt know her or you wouldnt talk so dumb.She may have made some bad decisions like most humans do at times but she is not accountable for what happend to peggy. Did you know that MANY 14 year olds are left alone back then and now days ang guess what its legal it depends on how mature that 14 year old is.You are one of the perfect example of why there was no justice for Peggy its much easier to blame the mother then the killer then again you might be the killer.
