Is it hard to get an appointment at the dentist? Does anyone recommend a dentist? We will be moving to Lebanon in a month and I am not sure if we should try and go for a checkup here or wait until we get to Lebanon (where it migh be less expensive). Thank you!

You should not move to Lebanon first off! It's a dead end town! No jobs and just a bunch of meth heads live there.

Really? Can you tell me more? When we visited, it did not seem that bad compared to California (where we live in meth head central, lol).

You should have no trouble getting in to see the dentist since you will be the only people in town with teeth!!!!!!

I have lived in many states including CA.(Unless you are speaking of California, MO.) But yes, sadly Lebanon does have a high rate of meth and is fairly dead, so to speak. If you are looking for a small town atmosphere it is that. I would say it's more for retiree's or farmers than a family. I have kids in school and I would never move them to Lebanon. We are at the lake now and love it.(Outside of the lack of real employment) Sadly, we are contemplating moving because we can't afford not to. I've worked in professional establishments full time since I was 15 years old and can't for the life of me find a real, decent paying job here and we've been in the area for 8 years now. The schools are alright, but drugs run rampant and can be accessible in any m.s/h.s. hall or bathroom if your children are observant.(Coming from my 17 year old son) He has asked me about numerous drugs since 9th grade which he has been offered. Soma, Percocet, hydro's, meth, Mary J, adderal, speed, etc... the bath salts and legal 'herbals'(k-2, Stoopid, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit are abundant and are MUCH worse than MJ will ever be. It's very sad, but just like anywhere else we've lived from the west to the east coast. Thankfully, he talks to me about them and we haven't had any issues thus far, but we are very watchful of changes in him. With peer pressure, it's always a possibility. However, Lebanon is much worse than Camdenton. Those poor kids have nothing to do outside of school and sports, not that we have much more. I wouldn't suggest it there. However, you probably won't have a hard time finding a dentist or getting an appointment, but do watch out for signs of cross contamination and the assistants wearing gloves while shuffling through anything not in your mouth or on YOUR tray. Being in the medical field I have seen a massive number of Hepatitis & communicable diseased patients, many, many more than any other area I've lived/worked in. Again, very sad.

So drugs are bad there. We live in Calaveras county and meth is a huge problem, along with hydrocodone, oxycodone, and marijuana.
Jobs are hard to find there? In our county, unemployment is about 25% with the much of the population on welfare and food stamps or retirees on social security and their pensions. We were hoping the job market is stronger there than here. I am in the healthcare field too and have a license for Missouri.
We like the small town feel. In fact Lebanon feels like a big city to us (we don't even have a signal light), but still small enough to know people. My husband is interested in farming, so it seems like a good fit.
But...the difficult job market is disturbing.
Thanks for the feedback!

Lebanon really is a nice place. You will like it here. And someone mentioned the Lake. Just about a half hour from Lebanon and a really nice place with lots of things to do. Don't let the meth thing bother you, it's no worse than any other small town and so long as you aren't involved in it, you don't notice.

The best experiences I have had with local dentist is the Thomas Kennedy Dental studio in camdenton. They do all kinds of dental work and tje staff is super nice. I wouldnt go to affordable dentistry,, not a nice guy and the work is subpar. Ozarks Dental studio here in town is nice but appoinents ate VERY hard to get because there is only one dentist. Most ppl that I know, drive out of town to see a dentist.

What loosers there are plenty of dentist they are not hard to make appt. unless you think you can get your teeth done for free. I like my town, there is meth everywhere Lebanon doesnt have the maket on it. It does have the market on liers.
