and 4 registers open at the midnight sale?? what the hell is wrong with our Wal-Mart? If you know that you are going to have literally a thousand people shopping they could have atleast had half of their check out lanes open!

People were lining up as early as 3pm Thanksgiving. Wristbands were given out @ 2am so no item got oversold and people wouldn't wait in a line for something there wasn't enough of. Wristbands and que lines are meant to minimize mob behavior and people getting hurt. Bringing everything out at 5 is like chumming for sharks.

Nothing is held back for employees. Violation of that gets you fired period, no matter what level you are.

4 registers @ midnight is inexcusable. My store had 31 registers open @ 11:45.

Anybody who thought they'd waltz in @ 5 am and cherry pick their items is a bit naive.

if wristbands were passed out it should have stated in the sales paper so people would have known to be there by 2:00 this morning. that is walmarts place to state it in the paper. I talked to alot of people this morning that did not know about it either.

The wrist bands had nothing to do with you not getting an item. I have been to these sales for the last 4 years and the big ticket items always have lines forming at midnight. This year, once there were enough people in line to cover the availability of a product they handed out bracelets. If you were going to show up at 4:30 or 5:00 to get in line, you were going to be too late anyway unless you planned on cutting line. So really the bracelets had nothing to do with not getting an item, they just served the purpose of controlling the pandamonium at 5:30.

The longer they can keep you from checking out the more items you are likely to put in your basket. They got it figured out!!

If you were at the Lebanon Walmart at 12:00 am to get you a few of the $1.33 towels then you were SOL some fat ass trailor park trash water sopping slob was racking them all off. The department manager was bear scatched by the ole selfish bag. Her cart was full of them towels evidently she couldnt afford depends and she needed to wear those towels to soak up all that urine coming out of the crack of her ass. Our wonderful city police had to come out and get a handle on the pre-sale theifs...had to be paged to the towel area for the massive towel attack which lasted a grand total of 30 seconds. Hell I took home 12 of the $3.77 towels, two police officers helped me pick out the colors and laid them in my cart. No body was grabbing them suckers!

Here was my experience at the Lebanon Black Friday sale.
Firstly, my first and foremost goal was for the 32" Emerson tv--my mother is going blind and has a 13" and this was a chance for me to get her something better I could afford. I called Monday, and was told lines would form at the items, and then come 5 am they would be up for grabs.
When I got there at 2 am, employees seemed confused and I was shuffled around to talk to different people and then finally was refered to the area for the tv. All bracelets were gone-- they told me they all went out at MIDNIGHT. I had never even heard or seen anything about "bracelets" or experienced it in past years. I would have been there at 10 pm otherwise.
Well, as it turned out they gave out as many braclets to people as they requested, the result being that people were SCALPING/ selling them in the parking lot. The employees discussed this actively, and I also heard two seperate conversations about being glad they told this and that family member and friend to get there at midnight and how they just got their bracelets and went back to bed. All the while, customers were outraged, no one seemed to have known about the bracelets or the system they were using. I saw one lady crying.
There were items in the ad that were not even stocked, and when they did bring items out at 5 am for grabs there was VERY limited supplies...which created a hostile situation. I saw countless people leaving empty-handed and heard comments of hoping to catch items at other stores.
At 5:20 am I went back to the tv area because i had been told that at 6 am they may have some tvs that were not claimed. I saw people with MULTIPLE tvs loaded up---one man had 6 and two carts. Maybe we should look on craigslist for them? I discovered there were people with these secondary claim vouchers, one lady i spoke to had been given hers at about 3:30 am---I had been there before her at 2 am yet no such ticket had been mentioned to me. They told us there maybe would be some tvs available so I lined up and waited for 40 minutes....and the last tv went to the lady in front of me. I have never had such a horrible shopping experience. I was given wrong info by staff multiple times, there was never any information about the bracelets, and there should have been a limit to how many people could purchase.
In past years, the lines and wait to check-out purchases at walmart have been legendary....often taking an hour or more. Prime black friday shopping time, and multiple lanes were open, as I approached to cashiers called out to me at the same time. It was as if the store had just bam, drastically depopulated fast as people discovered the situation or went running to try to catch the items elsewhere.
I have to say I went shopping at several other places after, and everywhere I went people were talking about how horrible walmart had been, how everything was gone, no one knew about the bracelets etc... many people other then myself were still angry hours later----and its understandable....it felt like we had been mislead.
Now I have to say, I ran to target, assuming I would miss those doorbusters. It was like night and day there.....everything was organized, the employees knew everything, where everything was....and they had PLENTY of the advertised items....and were restocking them. I was able to get everything I had on my list, which seemed like a miracle after what I had gone through previously.
I likely will be writing to Walmart regarding what happened. It was so poorly organized, the employees were clueless, and there were just so many bad and unfair practices that happened. I likely will not do black friday at walmart ever again.

I don't do the Black Friday shopping. I was driving through Bardstown on Friday morning and decided to stop in @ Walmart. At 10:00 AM they still had the $199 T.V's for sale ! They sold the last one by 10:30. Obviously they had a large supply of what they advertised.

Black Friday has always been bait and switch day,
Circuit city used be notorious for advertising crazy deal on an item then having ONE in stock and no rain checks.
Itís not really a sale anyway they will getcha back on turkeys and milk and staples and coffee for the next 6months
I found everything I wanted online at lower prices including shipping, thru Amazon and other online retailers, dropped them in shopping carts and will wait until Monday for cyber Monday sales to payout. No outta stock crap, no shopping cart demolition derby, no pissed off people, no hoarders

Blah Blah Blah I am an employee at Wal-Mart and alot of these negative comments are from dumb people, who don't have a clue, they should read there ad the first 5 to 6 pages where for the 5am and the rest of the ad was at 1201 am u could go on line for the map and find where the items where located, and the towel deal I do agree was stupid but there was no limit stated on them that's where you as the customer need to call home office and state to them they should of had a limit so others could of got some for there self and the ones that work there and don't know anything u should of asked a more experience person and we as employees do not get to get anything before the sale I had to send family members in to get a few things I wanted and didn't get alot that I wanted oh well I am not mad just have to move on Thank You, Have A Nice Day, Wal-Mart Rocks
