I believe Confused is confusing Johnny Boone with Charlie Stiles. Charlie never carried. As far as I know, Johnny carried a gun.
That whole AMW video was bull**** It came out before this book, and included Higdon's altered photos, and apparently some of his research. I probably should have said Jimmy Higdon 'contributed' to that video. Hell, one website he contributed to had Boone listed on a sex offenders page, which is just crazy.
Like I said before, without Johnny, Hidgon wouldn't have had a book. But Johnny's story is only one small part of the whole. IMHO, the book should have been titled The Godfather of Grass, or the King of Kush. Because without Bobby Joe, Joe Keith, Flip, or some of the others, it's not really the whole story of the Cornbread.
And he made several errors regarding the early Catholics that were ridiculous, given his bragging all over the internet about how well researched this book is.

DITTO on everything 'CBM wantabees' just said!!'Little Jimmy' Higdon was in short pants when it all went down. A chubby little rich kid with a speech problem.

I would have bet my last $5 against Johnny ever speaking to him. But apparently he did, and Higdon repaid the favor by yakkin' it up on the internet, Photoshopping photos, and getting in bed with the law.(Awful funny how Johnny didn't get busted until Higdon's ass was safely out of town.)

But Higdon got most of his photos, and several of the stories from Steve Lowery. And he repaid my friend Steve by telling the world he died a drunk.

Higdon didn't give two shits who got hurt as long as it worked out for him. Hell, the last 40/50 pages in the stupid book are about Higdon. What does that tell ya? He's an asswipe.

And oh yeah,'here it is'...you have no flippin' clue. Those guys weren't stupid, and noooo, there's no operation anything like it in cities all over the world today, and nooooo, they weren't thieves either!! Mr. Boone speaks fluent spanish, and I always heard he owned everal hundred acres in So. America, so I seriously doubt the Amish barn theory too...LOL.

I'm distantly related to these folks...stumbled upon the unfortunate history of these distant relatives and this book by doing some geneology research of my Kentucky family from Raywick...gonna give it a read....seems rather sad to me, the lives they lived.

So "little" Jim Higdon may have been a chubby little kid with a stuttering problem when the big busts went down in the late 1980s. The fact is this: he has written a kick-ass book. It is very well researched, and the nonfiction reads like a novel. The truth is stranger than fiction. The option has been purchased. It is being shopped as a documentary and a possible television series.

Fascinating book that engrossed me an those I introduced to it. The man thing it made me want to do was go to see this tiny corner of the nation where it all happened. At least, I would like to go see it before Hollywood arrives.

If you haven't read the book, do it. Jim Higdon is exceptionally talented. He did good work.

<quoted text>That would be at least 70 names and not a one talked. Also, I just want to know how 4 state policeman knew Charlie Styles was going to be near Taylorsville the day he was killed. What would be the odds of that? Also, how ironic they all received promotions not long afterward. Maybe they deserved them just because each were great at their job. Too many questions that can't ever be answered.
He wasn't the only one to be murdered by KSP. Remember Graham was killed in Illinois. An Aaron boy was shot in Jamestown and his mother told me the EMS was called to respond to a shooting before he was shot.
Now we know that police are killing citizens all over the country.

I don't want any. I don't use that stuff. I just wondering if the feds and KSP got all of them or if it was still big business?
