hey listen yes inmates did wear street clothes until 2001 and they did carry small amounts of money also plus people did use to sneak into the prison through those woods at night delivering contraband it just amazes me how someone thinks they know it all and they really don't know nothing

Alright, my mind is open. Tell me when the inmates had no uniforms and also tell me why they were allowed to carry money since there was nothing to buy in there? It isnt Walmart in there. What did the inmates wear? Where did they get the clothes if it wasnt uniforms? Im willing to learn IF someone can show me proof instead of blind statements. The ball is in your court now...... I'm open minded.. PS Remember now that MAC hasnt been there that long compared to other prisons. It use to be Cornocopia, remember?
Back before the debit system when inmates used real money they bought their supplies from the canteen with cash. Back then they also had pepsi and snack machines that took real money. As far as street clothes their families could ship in packages. If an inmate didn't have family to send in clothes they simply went to the property room and was issued street clothes.

It amazes me how someone can start talking about stuff that they have NO IDEA about!
I worked there in 2001 as an officer and the inmates wore kakkie state uniforms and it was MANDITORY for them to wear only that. They had a VERY STRICT DRESS CODE. Everything else was taken upon 'intake' underwear, socks, hats,ANYTHING that could possibly have been used to 'barter' with other inmates,(IF they tried to sneak anything in from other compunds), AND they all had ID badges that they were supposed to wear at all times when on grounds, They COULD NOT even go thru the food line without their badges! I had to count hundreds of them in their bunks three or four times per day for 'formal institutional count'. When the inmates were taken ou ton the road for community service, the inmates were 'strip searched' upon return. THEY WORE UNIFORMS! OR maybe I guess I worked in a different MAC or something?? And there was NO reports of anyone sneaking in the compound,,,,,,, The public sometimes tried to throw the contraban OVER the fense when driving up and down the road and the only way the inmates could retrieve it is when some of them went out on work detail to clean up the wooded area, again I know this from strip searches. The inmates have offlimits posted on grounds and they are VISUALLY monitored to NOT pass those signs. The offlimits are nowhere near the wooded areas. They are at a great distance from them. AND they were dealt with harshly if they wandered even a few feet past the signs. So please dont try to tell me Im wrong when I WORKED THERE AT THAT TIME!!!!!!!!!
It amazes me when someone starts tryign to tell someone that KNOWS that they are wrong.
But you'all believe what you want. It's apparent to me that no one wants to hear FACTS..

One other thing, you stated that the culprits would sneak in thru the woods at night and deliver the contraban. ALL the inmates are under lockdown after 'church' and counted to verify that no one walked away. I assure you that NO ONE can get inside the dorms when they are locked AND there are monitoring officers on 'yard'.

Unfortunatelly, the only thing those inmates in MAC or any institution have to do is 'try to get over on CO'.
Some are pretty good at it.
MAC has always had a monumental problem of keeping enough officers to even halfway safely run the facility and it's my opinion that its because its NOT A PRISON. The Columbia unit inside the compound IS A PRISON and the complete system should be run like that is.
I have forever said that there should be a 15 foot tall, electrified, razor wire fence system put completely around the compound with gun towers every 500 yards apart and make it a PRISON, instead of a 'boys camp'. Visit Eddyville or North Point, Eastern, or any other actual prison.
But who am I, LOL!
All I can tell ya is I DONT MISS those 18 hour MANDITORY SHIFTS...

The Columbia unit is a joke. There is no authority there what so ever. There is no controlled movement the inmates just come and go when they want throughout the building. They are scared the inmates will buck so they let them do what they want when they want. Yes ppl do come on grounds at night and hide contraband in areas. They are so short staffed that there is noone out at night to watch all this. MAC truely is a joke, it is nothing like DOC some of the inmates are so disrespectful but there is nothing you can do because if you take it to an upper they just let it go. There are more drugs and tobacco running around in there than there is on the street.

If you only knew the truth. Power hungry people ready to stab you in the back and will lye on paper to do so ,just to move up. Bledsoe a certain captain got into a screaming match one time in the security hall one time ,because that certain captain wouldn't do the right thing. Polly, i think and cardenis heard it all way out front. One time an officer lost his fingers in an accident and the warden told him not to worry about it, they would grow back. I was standing there. you can ask the CO. He will not lye. I know the truth!!!

Well for one Barry Brady is over Marion Dentention Center not the Adjustment Center so get it right before you tell someone to stop talking. Alot of former employees have alot to say about the way that place is ran and its free speech so we can blast it out all we want.

Drive out past the fence. It is ONLY along the front near the road so people can see it as they drive past. It is not anywhere else around the perimiter (where inmates do actually 'walk away'. As for jumping "really high" as you put it. Im over 60 years old and i could jump a cattle fence, which is what the fences are around the grounds. If you dont believe what I'm saying, simply drive past and look down the SIDES of the fences where there is NO razor wire.

The other person has already stated that Barry Brady is the jailer at MCDC not MAC. But I will tell you this. I know many people that worked for BOTH facilities over the years and Brady will let his 'pets' get by with most anything AGAINST THE WRITTEN RULES of the facility. I have seen Brady's uncle that worked there, sleep on our shift, night after night, on duty, so he could run his buss for school in the mornings. It did no good or us having to take up the slack to complain. Many other things too! I worked there a short while myself and I KNOW this to be facts. So please dont tell the rest of us to shut up and calling us liers.
