I agree that people should donate directly to the charity of their choice. I am also quite capable of posting my own opinions. I spell correctly, capitalize, and use punctuation while I'm at it!

Gypsy in front of Walmart

I have seen a slew of Families that seem to be Gypsy's in front of Walmarts and Sam's Club parking lots. I work in Houston where I see families begging for money almost everyday in front of a Walmart. When I go home in Katy I see them in front of the Sam's Club and the Walmarts with there whole family and I mean there kids and all trying to make you feel sorry for them. There signs will say lost our jobs ect. I just think it's pretty ironic that they are all the same nationalities posted up in front of the same stores all over Houston and Katy. They just all of a sudden started to panhandle with the same issues and with their Families in front of these stores. Beware of this scam as they continue to travel around taking peoples money

hey times are tight. i'll worry about me and mine. sorry to sound cold hearted but this is a harsh world and life isn't easy.

if they want better for themselves, they are gonna need to show more ambition than holding a sign.

They are fake!!!!! I happen to watch once. They do not need help,I witness one grab a cigarette from their pocket. After a while they started walking and not far this person got into a Ford pick up truck that was only three or four years old. They come from other counties so no one will know them. Some towns their is laws about this... So people beware!!!!!

Back in the day, I endured a rather lengthy period of poverty, but I NEVER begged, asked for food stamps or any other government support. I worked at odd jobs, finally found a permanent position, and worked second and even third jobs.

When I climbed out of my financial hole, I went to school part time, and worked full time. After a decade of this, I got my Bachelor's degree, then Master's. I became a private contractor in the rehabilitation field, and worked for 33 years in my field, making pretty good money, after paying my dues and working my way up in the ranks.

I am now retired, but money from my retirement plan, to which I contributed pays my way, along with my social security benefits.

I have never considered begging. It can't be that lucrative, and I had bigger ideas for my standard of living. For quite awhile, I worked at pretty lousy jobs paying minimum wages. I know that there are people out there who can and are making it on their own with dignity. Sure, lots of people need a helping hand once in awhile. I give to several charities to help those who have true needs, but I will never give to beggars on the street who are only looking toward their next meal (or fix).
