Are there any Lebanon Junction residents who post on this Lebanon Junction forum?

I left Lebanon Junction in 1963. I've been wondering about what happened to my old classmates. I know that Joe Jackson died many years ago of a heart attack. Butch Sweat just became the mayor. There are many others whom I don't know about.

Hi Don; I live in LJ now - born at Fort Knox and raised in Bullitt County. Moved here 6 years ago - temporarily :-)...I love it here; just wish we could bring LJ back instead of watching it deteriorate. I'm sorry I don't know many of the folks here - Steve Masden and his family - some great folks; Abner Adams & wife Louise who have both passed on. The folks who have been here for generations are hard to get to know if you didn't grow up here but they are all nice folks. It's as close as you're gonna come to Mayberry these days. Maybe you can come back for a visit -.........

Thanks for replying. I know the Masden family. I remember LJ as a small, friendly town. I went to the old LJ High School and watched movies at the old movie theater. That was ages ago. I left LJ in 1963 when I joined the Air Force. What family I had left moved to Bardstown; and over the next 25 years I got back to Ky on military leave, but I went to Bardstown to visit.

Maybe, I will get a chance to visit LJ again. But, we're settled down in Sioux Falls, SD now. Once again, thanks for replying.

It doesn't sound as though LJ is doing well these days if meth houses are so prominent. LJ was a quiet family town when I was there. There were the normal scandals, but I enjoyed living there even I lived on the wrong side of the tracks.
When I left there in 1963 to join the Air Force, I didn't look back. I was too busy seeing the world, I guess. I have gone back several times simply to drive through town, but I haven't been there in well over twenty years.

Keep in mind that not all meth busts are actually in the L.J. town limits,(I'm not saying the scum don't do it in town also). Alot of them have an L.J. address, but can actually live as far north as the south end of Beechgrove rd., and even a bit farther north. And most don't even come to L.J. they prefer Shepherdsville as a hangout.

Something to consider.

I knew most of the cartwrights and if you are talking about red Norris, yep I knew him too. Most of the cartwrights have left LJ but Red was back the last time I heard anything about him.

There was a Mrs.Norris that owned a little junk shop in downtown LJ. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She died about 3 or 4 years ago.
