So true! Hell, I avoid any eating establishment on Sundays. They come in hordes after the churches let out with their screaming brats and nasty, snobbish, attitudes, pushing and shoving and demanding certain tables, booster chairs, and extra water. And God help you if there is a buffet!

Your name says it all. Sit back and watch as gay marriage becomes legal in state after state and country after country. So you are losing the fight.

Jesus healed the Samaritan but his followers won't tip the gay guy. Too bad. Eternity in hell being force fed ice cold overcooked spaghetti.

Who's food is going to be spit into next time they go to dinner?? Not the gay waiter's....

Will they be smart enough to not ever go back to that restaurant?? Probably not. They're probably stupid enough to think that their food will be safe as long as that one waiter isn't working. Guess what, bigots?? All gay people have friends and family that love and support us--sometimes in inappropriate ways.

Enjoy your food.

I was a waiter for 4 years when I was much younger. I HATED working Sunday. They would roll in, some carrying their bibles to show us where they'd been. They were awful tippers, tiresome, and would loudly say prayers before eating. I thought, according to the BIBLE, that good people were supposed to pray in PRIVATE and not show off in public, but hey, different strokes.

My favorite? A lovely churchy couple who drank 20 refills of coffee, holding the cup up and pointing into it, then leaving me EXACT change and no tip, but a smeary religious tract on top of the exact change. Since we were charged by law to give 8% of the check amount to the state for taxes, that left ME paying 8% of THEIR meal, and nothing but the tract. I threw it right into the garbage.

If I were that waiter I would "accidentally" drop their food on the floor next time before serving them.

Sorry, Sheeple, on legal grounds, you're correct, but the state charges the wait person a percentage anticipating a tip of the check amount. Stiffing a waiter takes money out of HIS or HER pocket.

Besides, a table of 6 or more usually DEMANDS an 18% gratuity tacked on, no exceptions.

WOW. That place is like 7 miles away, maybe we could go for some Italian food. No they won't show their face in there again....esp. after they have been exposed on national media. LOL

Where in the world do you find waiters and waitresses who can afford to work for free?

1. Praying is showing off? Wow!
2. I bet that restaurant and its patrons didn't miss you.
3. Then you'd have to serve them a fresh plate.

Aren't church crowds who go to a restaurant on Sundays enabling the sinners by having them work on Sundays ?

And why don't these people show the same concern about other supposed sins that people are committing ?

Do they want to bring back Blue Laws ?

1. Everyone knows that.
2. Maybe you deserved less than you got. In Massachusetts the minimum wage is $8/hr. If the tips don't bring a server's pay up to that the restaurant has to make up the difference.
3. Gratuity: something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service; especially : tip

An 18% gratuity may automatically be added to a bill but the table can tell them to remove it. They have no legal obligation to pay it, especially if they got stuck with you.

Do you remember the case awhile ago upstate New York where the police actually arrested a guy, and threatened him and his family with jail time, because they did NOT leave a tip at the restaurant ?(The guy claimed he did not leave a tip because the service and\or food was poor).

Maybe no one is *entitled* to a tip, but when you go to a restaurant in the U.S. where someone else is going to serve you, it's pretty much expected that, provided you get good service, a reasonable tip is left for that server.

I tend to be very generous with wait staff in restaurants because I used to be a server myself. It's hard work and a good server is worth big bucks to me. Despite me being not exactly wealthy myself, my usual tip for good service starts at 20% and goes up from there. Even if the server isn't very good, but is making the effort, we're good as far as I'm concerned.

Only once have I stiffed a waiter on the tip. And that time I actually stiffed him on the entire bill and walked out without paying because he was so hostile and bitchy to us. I won't bore you with the story, but it was so bad that when the bill came, I took out my pen and wrote on it, "The hostile service and the cold food that we were just served was inexcusable. I will gladly pay this bill after your boss calls me so I can review with him our experience with you." and left my name and phone number. I did get a call from his boss, but it was so that he could apologize and tell me that our bill had been taken care of and to assure us that we would never get such poor service again. Which is correct, because we've never been back.
