Smoking ban in Kansas would definatley put us small bussiness owners out of bussiness. Having recently purchased a small community restaurent , where at least 70 percent of my customers are smokers.Losing that percentation would definatley put us little people out of bussiness. I dont see how the goverment can dictate how we are allowed to run or place of bussiness',

Pam, I have mixed feelings about a proposed statewide ban. I am an ex-smoker who quit as I was beginning to get sick on smoking. The way I have solved it is that my wife and I can not eat in some restaurants that have smoking sections with poor ventilation systems. Surveys in some areas, such as northeast Johnson county which have no-smoking laws, some businesses decrease; some increase. I think it depends on what the clientiele is. You might see an increse in family diners and a decrease in early morning breakfast business meetings. It is a catch 22 situation.
