As a police officer I enforce all laws, but have discretion on what I cite people for. I'm not out to burn citizens or "teach them a lesson." There would have been a better way to handle this, like let it go or if you really have to put in your two cents, some mediation or driving classes may have helped. Probably not for these two. Having it reach the media has only caused criticism for the PD and justice system in the city for continuing a rediculous case some 5 times now. A waste of money, a waste of resources, and a waste of time.

I have to agree with you. Johnson County has some very strange rules, regulations, by-laws.. whatever, and that we need more cops on the streets like you. Not those that will go with one person or the other during an incident such as like this one.

Not when the person you're going to arrest is a convicted felon, as in this case.
