Leawood residents cautioned about suspicious door knocks

Leawood police want residents to report suspicious behavior in their neighborhoods, especially if someone knocks on their door, makes excuses about their presence and leaves.
It has happened at least twice in recent days, on Thursday in the 9700 block of High Drive and Friday in the 9600 block of Belinder Road.
Leawood police think that a man is connected to a group that broke into a house Friday morning in the 9700 block of Manor Road. That burglary, which sparked a short police pursuit, happened about 8 a.m., just after a house sitter at the residence returned from walking the homeowner's dog. Read more
