Man Arrested in Death of 4-Year-Old Leavenworth Boy

A man is under arrest in connection with the death of a four-year-old boy over the weekend.

I swear they could copy and paste this same story every single time. Where are the mothers? Are all these "live-in-boyfriends" model parents and suddenly snap? I find that hard to believe. In my experience, there are always multiple incidents where the abuser goes too far, and then promises to never do it again. Maybe they should start charging the mom's as accomplices if they know their boyfriend has been abusive in the past and they stood by and did nothing....just justified it as "discipline."

My heart goes out to the loved ones of this baby. This is a baby. I have to agree with the other person we are mothers and we are here to pretect our babies. I don't agree that there wasn't a sign of some kind or even a red light saying this person is not good with my child. The mother needs to take on her part in this. How sad. What is wrong with some people? Violent men, hard-headed women....unloved children. And they beget more of the same, and the cycle of abuse continues.

This man just got out of prison not to long ago for agg. assault. That is so sad.

gabe was an awesome little man. he will be dearly missed. i really enjoyed spending time with him. didnt know him all that well but its not right. its just not right.

You are right! The mother should be charged! No child should suffer this sort of abuse while the mother stands by!

While I am disgusted by this horrific act and the man in custody certainly fits the profile and appears to be behind this tragedy, I would encourage caution in passing judgment until he has had his day in court.

Today, I will mourn the loss of the child. Once the facts are presented and the jury rules, I will direct my contempt accordingly.

What is this womans problem? How dare she let some guy dicipline or put hands on her child! Now she's going to play the victim in this case and act like she didn't know that her child was in danger. You're the mother, the child trusts you and you let your baby down. SAD!

This is a very sad case, They all are but im not going to run the mother down. I pray to GOD that this never happens to me, but i'm a stay at home mom so no one has to discipline my but me! My heart bleeds for this family!!! I hope that this little angels family can make it through this extremely hard time, I know if something happened to my little guy i would probably die!

I am so sorry for your loss... Tod has told me about him, and I never got to meet him, but I know that there is a big loss... Ray always told us stories about him every time we would meet with her, and I know that she is sad today too!!! I am praying for you all, and will be here with Tod if you all need anything!

This is an appalling and heart wrenching story, the same old story it seems, this little boy had suffered previous abuse and the mother needs to be charged with child abuse, neglect, and endangerment of a child, she is just as responsible, if not more, for letting this happen to her child. How could she just let this go on and on. Where were this little boys family members? why didn't anyone stop this? It is our responsibility as parents, family members, neighbors, friends community to reach out and stop these things from occurring. I feel awful that this little boy had no one to come to his aid. May his death have no meaning, do your part to help some other little boy since you did not help your own. May god bless his soul and take of him in heaven as he was not taken care of here on this earth. And any women who takes in a man like this man Mr. Jones, and allows this man to take care of her child needs a death sentence just like Mr. Jones, there are resources in our community that she could have gone to for help. But she choose not too. And who has to suffer? The child.

Has anyone checked into this man's history. Alot of court documents are a matter of public knowledge. Check to see if this man has had any protection from abuse documents, or child abuse charges brought before him. Did he really finish the parenting classes that he was suppose to finish. If not why did the system fail that little boy. I thought the system was suppose to protect the innocent not leave them helpless and defenseless.

For the 11 year old boy "state custody" should not be with JASON JONES parents!!! I am not sure what Leavenworth is thinking.

Boy, you got that right! Let's send the boy to stay with his Dad's mother so that he can be told what to say! Jason is evil! He always has been and always will be! Both these boys have been failed by the courts!

So many heartbreaking stories lately. My prayers are with his family. Senseless killing of a defenseless children.

For one Jason by law was not supposed to be living there so Monica, for her to be leaving Gabe with Jason was just wrong. Come on! He actually was in jail for more than two years, and his son lived with his parents for the time being. They have also been together longer since Feb. That was my old house that SHE bought in May of this year. And as for the stairs.. they are about 15 of them leading down to the basement that is concrete. So just think of what little Gabe went through. God bless the family of Gabes that actually loved him!!
