What Happened at the Real County Stock Show

I was at the Real County Stock show and the newspaper lady was thrown out for taking pictures! I may be wrong, but I think taking pictures for a newspaper at a public event is defended by some part of the constitution. did she do something that was illegal? Why wasn't she allowed to continue taking pictures? I was watching the judging of the rabbits and standing near her when she was told to leave. and the guy who told her to leave needs somebody to teach him some manners because he was very rude to her. No man should talk to a lady like that. Peaople in Leakey are scary! Talk about backwoods hillbillies!!!!!! No raising, no manners, and no education! Or maybe they are just self serving and don't give a dam as long as they get what they want. If my friends child had not been showing, I probably wouldn't have gone to it. don't think I'll be back if that's the way they treat people there...

AND--for your 411, I go where ever I want to and cover what events I decide are worth covering and that includes Leakey! Based on your comments, it appears my original post is right on target--you sure haven't said anything to refute any of the impressions I have been given or any of the things I have been told about that town! No wonder the attendance at the Real County Livestock Show is so small. Maybe the show should be moved from Leakey to another place in Real County--Rio Frio, Campwood, or maybe just north of Happy Hollow...

Perhaps you should have asked someone why? She is not currently allowed to run a newspaper, she was closed down. She has 2 lawsuits against her for printing false information in the paper. She has ruined lives in Leakey by her venemous articles, just ask her previous daughter-in-law.

and.....if you work for a newspaper or you are a reporter, perhaaps it would be wise to do some digging and get the facts before you fly off the handle. Ask around, get info from the locals about this woman, yes it may not always be true, but you will get idea of her character. Go to some of the local offices and ask information, such as the Sheriff's office.

Are we talking about the same person? I was talking about the lady from Hill Country Herald. DID SHE DO ALL THAT?????????? Wow! I am shocked that anybody from a small town like Leakey could be so vicious! I know there are people like that out there, but most of them are from big cities--you know, the kind that don't give a dam about anybody but themselves. penny Macgurier is her name and because of her and her missinforming news about made it so hard for me to be in leakey my picture was in her paper so many times and all the shit she wrote about me was false my kids had to see and hear people talk there small town gossip about me witch was hard on my kids made me sound like a killer im glad she is shut down maybe she will learn to investagate before she writes lies

There is a Leakey newspaper and it is a good one. They report the news of Leakey, Campwood, and Sabinal and alot of other great articles. The commentaries are very interesting and overall the paper is very upbeat. You can read it at www.hillcountryherald.net . Give it a try. If you don't like it, then you can wait for the Leakey Star to get going again.
