Bernie, as a humanist you abhor fideism. That's to be expected. As a communist, you abhor capitalism. That too is to be expected. Your arguments have been put forth many times in the past, to the point that all you are capable of doing is expounding regurgitated slogans and phrases from the Communist Manifesto.Com munism is a known failure.

How Capitalism Works

by Julia Layton

In this article, we'll explore capitalism: its roots, principles and effects, benefits and shortcomings. We'll find out how capitalism compares to the alternative method of doing business. Incidentally, the United States doesn't actually practice capitalism. No one does these days.

Today, the economies of nations that are typically referred to as capitalist are in fact mixed economies -- they incorporate certain aspects of capitalism and certain aspects of planed economies. In pure capitalism, things like child labor laws, Social Security, anti-discriminatory hiring practices and a minimum wage have no place. Capitalism rejects all government intervention in economic matters.

In the 1930s, the British Economist John Maynard Keynes published a new take on capitalism. Keynes believed that government intervention can help stabilize a capitalist economy. By varying taxes and spending and manipulating interest rates, the government can keep the money supply level and protect the economy from the "boom and bust" periods inherent to the capitalist system.

Keynes' economic theories contributed to the U.S. Congress passing the Employment Act of 1946, which put the responsibility of economic stability squarely in the hands of the federal government. With that, laissez-faire economics was officially dead in the United States.

Obama is exercising the rights that are formatted with the ever increasing Liberal International Free Trade Markets and its effect on increasing Globalization. Fail to maintain the décor of the USA would be ignoring our competition. Exposing their abuse of Free Trade Markets, regardless of the Sovereignty, is a mandatory right to all Sovereignties to express.
Facilitating a litigation to resolve disputes, advancing prospects for peaceful resolutions, which will be more profitable to both or more parties in dispute. War digresses as a non profiting adventure. A change from the days of old with invade, loot, destroy. And subjugate populaces to pay to the conquers some form of tax. That is now increasingly viewed as crimes against humanity and is subject to litigation.
No its not yet perfect as it will require far more time to evolve into a global power that reins supreme amongst the sovereignties. What forces are at play is more powerful than any sovereignty or political theories. Its called the Liberal International Free Trade Markets.
Observe its power. Brought down orthodox communism down without firing a shot. Free Trade Markets demand democratic principles in order for it to function. China and Russia are evolving towards their democratic identity.
Just as orthodox communism fell so will poorly regulated capitalism come tumbling down as it loses its ability to compete on the Liberal International Free Trade Markets as the communist discovered.
Obama has demonstrated, with Obamacare his allegiance to reduce the inequality favoring the 1%. Redistribution of income and wealth is a momentous priority to rein in our poorly regulated capitalism, if we are going to be serious about competing on the Liberal International Free Trade Markets.
Observe how the inequality of 2008 and 1929 are identical to what preceded their collapses. http://neweconomy.net/content/wealth-inequali... video chart USA wealth Distributions..
Redistribution of that wealth and income is and has always been a democratic objective. Obama, Clinton and F.D.R. have and are accused of communism each and every time they seek to redistribute the wealth income to more sustainable secured levels. Observe Sweden as one example of many that have had no recessions and easily avoided our global meltdown without their citizens thrown into financial chaos.
Precisely who benefits with promoting the continued biases to favor inequality to the 1% with their callow derogatory comments.
Its time for a cool, cool change.

Blarney and his ilk are not really sane. Communism is a proven failure in several countries, but they keep trying the same old things and hoping for different results. That is called insanity.

I know what you are saying but everything that has been implemented since FDR leans towards Communism because Capitalism rejects it all & Big Centralized Government involvement is what I was getting at because all it takes is the wrong type of government involvement and your on the path towards Communism and our form of Government here in the US rejects Capitalism especially the US Constitution with Artile 1 Section 8 clause 3, the Commerce Clause which keeps the US from actually becoming a Society based Capitalism which the only two choices left are a US Society based on Socialism or Communism and Socialism which the US is currently under which is nothing but a hybird form of Socialism(mixed economy) that is destined to fail and we are getting closer each day.

Article 1, Section 8

Clause 3. To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

Congress has the power to impose regulations on interstate and international business. This "interstate commerce clause" has been quite controversial in the history of constitutional law; for a long time, judges tended to read the clause narrowly, overturning federal laws they deemed focused mainly on regulating economic activity within states rather than between them. Since the 1930s, however, judges have tended to read the clause broadly, allowing the government to regulate all kinds of economic activity—by setting a national minimum wage, for example.

You are correct. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3 is one of the factors in shoving the abomination called ObamaCare down our throats.

Whether by accident or on purpose, this country is doomed. ObamaCare is only part of the problem.

Exactly but in 1944 is when things dealing with the Insurance Industry as a whole here in the US came to head in the SCOTUS case of United States v. South-Eastern Underwriters Association in which the SCOTUS ruled that the US Federal Government could regulate insurance companies under the authority of the Commerce Clause in the U.S. Constitution which the Democrats didn't like the ruling so what FDR and the Democrats in Congress did was to pass the McCarran–Ferguson Act which FDR then signed into law which provides that Federal Anti-Trust Laws will not apply to the "business of insurance" as long as the state regulates in that area, but Federal Anti-Trust Laws will apply in cases of boycott, coercion, and intimidation. By contrast, most other Federal Laws will not apply to insurance whether the states regulate in that area or not.

That is interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I guess that the little exercise of getting under the desk in school in case of a nuclear blast was a waste of time. Anyone who went to grade school in the late 50's and early 60's can probably relate.

LOL, LOL, How the flies are so attracted to that aroma. Just can’t get enough of it. Hypnotized to the bidding of the one who serves them manure.

Lets take a short stroll amongst the civilized industrious nations that have reined in their Inequality and compare it to our USA.
Workers in USA compared;
Average number of hours U.S. workers put in annually: 1,790
what the Norwegians work: 1,420
and the French: 1,479
Percent increase in productivity from 1979 to 2012: 75
What the median middle-class income ($51,017) would be if wages grew at the same rate:$77,131
(Check out this handy tool from EPI to see what your income would be if it had kept up with productivity.)
Number of guaranteed days of paid vacation given to U.S. workers: 0
Number of vacation days U.S. workers are entitled to, but don’t take, in a typical year: 175 million
Number of paid maternity days in Germany: 98 (100% pay)
Number of paid maternity days in France: 112 (100% pay)
Number of paid maternity days in U.S.: 0
Number of industrialized countries that do not mandate paid maternity leave: 1
(yes, the U.S. is the only one that does not require paid leave.) AND we have not even gotten into Sweden yet. I’ll let you research that one and observe what the Price Of Inequality is to you and your children.
Inequality of financial distribution is the bottom line basic foundation for what ails our USA. Everything else takes a back seat as mere distractions to obtaining the solution.
