At the bottom of this email is the experience we had this weekend. That is a copy of the email that was sent to the owner of the La Quinta in Seabrook, TX. After sending this email I get a phone message from the owner, Jennifer Pineda, saying we destroyed the room (rm 208), however, we stayed in room 310, and how she filed a police report for vandalism on us as well as issued a criminal trespass warning. She threatened we would be arrested if we ever came onto her property and called us scammers and said we owe her several hundred dollars and she will do what is necessary to get that money. When I called her back and tried to explain to her that we did not stay in that room she continued to yell at me and make false accusations. I explained to her my husband is a police officer and she stated she didn't give a shit. She then hung up on me. Honestly I didn't know how to respond to this because in the past we have had pleasurable experiences with La Quinta. Jennifer then called me back and stated she is reporting us to the fraud department. She continued to yell and not listen to me and then hung up on me again. Our name is being slandered by this owner, Jennifer Pineda. She has filed a claim at the fraud dept of La Quinta.
I am appalled that this has happened. I have called guest relations twice today and still have not received a phone call back. We are good people and will do whatever necessary to clear our name and get an apology for being treated this way. The reason for our visit to La Quinta was to visit our uncle who was placed on hospice. This was not a visit of leisure. He passed away on Sunday and this has added to the emotional distress we are already facing.
****We arrived Friday night and was disappointed. The bathroom door was messed up. You could hardly shut the door and I actually got locked in and my husband had to help open the door to get me out. The dead bolt wouldn't lock without pulling the door up really hard and the security top latch did nothing as it was not screwed into the wall properly. We ignored these things. Saturday morning as we prepare to go see our sick uncle my husband goes to make coffee and the coffee pot hadn't even been cleaned out. We then go to breakfast and they were out of bowls so you couldn't eat cereal or oatmeal. Saturday night after arriving back at the hotel our kids wanted to swim because they had been sitting all day. We get changed and go to the pool and find it is closed and green like a lagoon. We approach the front desk and speak with Jennifer. She states the pump broke yesterday an d someone could not come out until Monday. There is no way the pool looked as it did in 1 day. Also there is many options to get pool company's out on weekends. When people pay for a hotel they expect it to be clean, everything working, etc. especially when it is a trip that is already emotionally draining as this was. Jennifer was not friendly and did not apologize or offer any type of help. We asked if we could check out so we were able to go stay somewhere else. She refused and said we could not get a refund and could not offer a phone number for us to call and speak with someone. We went to the room and spoke with customer service at La Quinta. They put us up in another hotel which she said was 15 miles away but actually was 32 miles (40 minutes) out of the way and it cost us $3.25 in toll charges. We finally arrived at the other La Quinta at 8:45 that night. We still had to use 5000 of our points and pay $17. I am so disappointed in the Kemah La Quinta. This was horrible customer service. I refuse to pay for Saturday night and if not refunded I will call and speak to customer service again. We have so many family members that also choose La Quinta as their hotel choice but will be saddened to hear of this experience. I am hoping you do the right thing.
