Il has introduced a bill that would enforce random drug testing for all adult receiving welfare, food stamps or Medicaid, which he told would "get people off drugs" and save money for the state.
"I believe there is a place for public assistance for those that really need it, but I don't think there should be public assistance for those using it to buy drugs, widely known here and all over the country that they'll take the food-stamp card and buy good groceries with it, and then swap them for illegal drugs. And this would put the fear in people to keep them drug-clean because they would lose their public assistance if they show up with illegal drugs in their system."

Recently in a small southern county that I have left the drug dealers have the food stamps EBT cards down pat they just collect the cards and pin numbers and each month they the dealer or family member will take the addict to the store buy bare minimums survival food for the card holder then the rest of the card is run at several dummy stores set up around the area to obtained laundered cash from the system. Then, based on credits the addict is metered out a rock or two per week. That way everyone understands the dealer gets his due first.

I completely agree these people in Tennessee have EBT and Welfare debit cards locked down tight for crack, meth and heroin.
