I got the impression from Hatch that he is truly trying to do what is best for this state and country in general. However, he made it perfectly clear that he faces an uphill battle with the liberal majority in the house and congress. He also made the point that, although he is an incumbent, he has a very solid conservative voting record and is one of the few conservatives fighting for us in Washington. Since he has been in Washington so long, it gives him experience and respect that newcomers just won't be able to match. I feel Senator Hatch is a solid representative for Utah.
