OMG! I just got sick to my stomach. I cannot imagine what Ethan was going through, what he was thinking. if only he could of gotten out while they were gone. Ethan You Are now with the angles , flying and pain free. It was a shame that you only lived for 4 years. May the evil people that cut your life short pay for what they have done.

"The only way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."-Edmund Burke

Our "justice system" has failed because we as a society have failed. We need to change the laws- we owe our future, the children. These two pigs- not parents- should be put to death. "Parental rights" needs to be re-examined. Being a parent is not a right-it is a privilege. It horrifies me and fills me with rage to think of what Ethan endured. The punishment should fit the crime.Society should not be responsible for defending two ADMITTED child murderers. We cannot forget Ethan or Shelby- their memory must do more than live on. It must set the precedent.

These two are already dead, they have no future life to look forward to. Rather than the death penalty, which does nobody any good and takes years of appeals, perhaps they should be kept (apart) in prison for life and offer themselves to humanity: someone needs a kidney, perhaps they have one that's a match; someone needs an eye, they have four; etc. These people can never undo the horror they have done, but if there's any chance that they can reflect on it and do something for mankind--well that's putting them to good use and may go in their favor when they face their maker.

At present, the best a person can do is sign the petition for 'Ethan's Law'. Find a hard copy and sign it! With the issues that were raised about signing petitions "on line" in Utah, it's best to NOT take any chances. Sign the petition and let your voice be heard.
For Joe Stacy, you have my deepest condolences. What an awful thing to have to go through. The Sloop's must face the MAXIMUM penalty/consequence allowed by Utah law. If the death penalty does not apply in this case, when might it? The Davis County Prosecutor is listening to the people and will try this case meticulously.
But the important thing would be to sign the petition for 'Ethan's Law'.

I have been at all of Ethan's hearings so far and plan to attend them all. I am usually unsure how I feel about the death penalty but, in this case, I think the death penalty is justified. I do not believe in protective custody for any one who harms a child in any way. My belief is that these 2 monsters should get the death penalty and put into general population at the Utah State Prison. Guaranteed the prisoners will make sure the death penalty is carried out with out appeals!

Last night after I wrote a comment, I could not sleep at all. all I was thinking was Ethan. I just can't get Ethan out of my head. That beautiful boy and the trauma he had through. I have three children. Ages 3 1/2 ; 5 and 8. I woke each kid up last night and i told them that I love them. I even put the youngest one in bed with me and held her. I hope that both mother and step-father should just get 100 x the torture, of what they both did to Ethan. The mother is just as guilty , She states that she left to go get medication for Ethan , She had the chance to go get the help if she was scared of him. (so she says) I would Risk my own life to protect my children. She did not. She was a partner in crime and she should pay for it for the rest of her life and beyond. Him too. No child deserves any kind of abuse .

I don't think sloops mother should be threatened for standing by her son. She does not need to like or agree with him she knows what he did was brutal, but she is being a mother like stephanie should should have been to Eathan. Is that not what a mother or a father should do? A good parent is suppose to stand by there kids through good times and bad times and love them unconditionally even if they do not agree with them or their actions. She is his mother and she is doing what a lot of parents dont do anymore. Thay should learn from her devotion and her maternal instincts. Remember she can not protect him from his own actions but she can stand by him as a parent should until the end. Me I will stand by my kids and protect them from what I can but they still have to face the consequences of their own actions as they learn their way in life, that does not mean my duty i choose to have is ever over. I praise his mother for keeping her oath as a parent, something the sloops forgot they had.

I do not think nothing could ever go in their favor again.

Utah will go for the death penalty for a district attorney killed then they should for sure for a brutal case like this. If they don't then it seems that our children's life are their least concern.

I am so glad that sweet little Ethan is going to get the justice he deserves. His mother and step father are monsters who should have to face the most severe consequences for their actions. I also feel that this case should be used as an example that this country will not tolerate such cruelty towards children!

Ethan Stacy represents all that is good in this world. There is nothing more precious then a child such as him. Stephanie and Nathan Sloop represent all that is evil. It is unfortunate and horrifying he suffered like he did, however, I do believe good always will prevail. It may not seem like it now, but in the end, it always does and so will Ethan. RIP beautiful boy.

Belief is knowing; faith is trusting the journey. If you know there is God, then there is
Satan also.Everyone chooses which to follow. That is not the will of god but one's own sinful will. I'll stop there. This incident and the other 10 or so that I have read about since Ethan's death have drawn me closer to God but I wonder why he allows it.
