Teen spared jail in fatal texting-while-driving crash
Farmington a A judge on Thursday spared jail time for a 19-year-old motorist who says he had received a text message and was putting down his phone when he struck and killed a man in a crosswalk last year.

Typical of Utah. I've read studies indicating that texting while driving is actually much more dangerous than driving under the influence of alcohol and reponsible for more accidents, fatal and non-fatal, and this person is spared jail time. Do you really think they would have received the same leniency if alcohol or drugs were involved? Wake up lawmakers.
