I called in AAA Absolute Clean Air Inc. of NJ ( http://aaaairductcleaning.com/default.aspx )after seeing their ad for cleaning air ducts for the whole house for $35. This is a Russian owned firm and based out of the Trenton area, but they dispatch their trucks from multiple locations in the Tri-State area. I was serviced by a person named Vitaly (I think - I didnt really make much from the accent). He was a nice guy, but poor service overall. First of all, after looking through the house, he says its going to cost me $300 because he has to drill holes in the mains to attach his vacuum pumps. That plus one extra return duct bumped up the price to $300. I thought this was ridiculous so I said No to the service. So he called the dispatcher to let him know. Their dispatcher comes on the phone to speak to me and says that I need to pay them $50 for making them come out and not performing the service. But I had never agreed to them performing any service at all, so I felt this was just a way to fleece me and was extremely poor service overall.
In all AAA Absolute Clean Air was a total waste of time and energy. There are many many more reputable and trustworthy people out there. Go with them instead.

WHAT A SCAM!! BAIT N SWITCH COUPONS!!!!
I received a coupon in the mail stating the dryer vent cleaning would be $34.95. Called, made an appointment and told the rep I had the coupon and the amount. The service rep came the same day to the house and informed me the cleaning would be $70.00. I did not have a regular sized line. He called someone from his office and put me on the phone with the same rep I spoke to in the morning.(Heavy Russian accent) Tried to speak to rep and he hung up on me Twice. I asked for the owner of the company....
What customer service????
There are many other reputable companies out there.

We need to do something about this company before someone else gets ripped off. Had the same problem as the last 2 post. They wanted to charge me $35.00 after I wanted to wait about obtaning there service. Had a problem with this russian guy on the phone. Stated it does not say this in the circular add that was mailed to me and nothing was stated on the phone to me. I refused to pay the money and they were going to send me to collection agency even though nothing was ever signed or stated. DEFINITE SCAM ARTIST BEWARE!

Guys, I had the same experience. Please lets do something. I am filling in a complaint on BBB. I am sure at least some people check it before they call for service. If there are other sites like that, please reply to this post and I will make sure I fill those in as well.

Could not find anything on the BBB about this company. I search P.A and N.j. Im not sure, but if you file a complaint do they contact this company? Had a big problem then most people would of had with these guys, would hate to see it happen to someone else. This is the only site I could find with people written in.

I fell for this and am completely beside myself. I actually gave the guy a check that has not been cashed yet and its been over a week. something is not right. All I have is a piece of paper as a receipt with no information about them on it all.

Same thing here. After the "operator" called and started yelling at me I said I was filing complaints about their service. It's a joke on so many levels....sorry but that's not how we do business in the USA buddy.

I just had the same experience. Fortunately, when the technician tried to come back up to my door, the police drove by, and we had to explain to them that they are not allowed to harass residents.

Bottom line, this company is a scam. Don't fall for it.

This company came to my house today and cleaned my vents. What a mess he made in one of my rooms. He put this small airblowing piece in each vent slot and it bent all the vents in my house. They now all have bends in them. I did not realize this happened to all the vents until after he left. They do not use a camera to look down the vents at all! If you have a coupon he does not ask you which parts of the coupon you want to use. Very heavy Russian accent and does not look like a friendly person at all. I was afraid to say anything to him since my husband was not home and I had my children with me. Now my vents are all dented!

So, here you say the quote was for $300, and on ripoffreport you say it was for $460 - so which one are you not lying in?
Seriously, if you think that your whole house HVAC system can be cleaned for $34.95, you must be quite naive. It would cost more than that in gas & tolls just to get to certain locations.
Ever heard of Marketing?

Quote of $300 was based on the system configuration - this is what the $35 coupon "blossomed to". The addnl 160 was for drilling a hole in the HVAC system to attach their hose. These are the words I used on ripoffreport "he says its going to cost me $460 because he has to drill holes in the mains to attach his vacuum pumps and there are 2 systems". I assumed that was clear enough. My mistake. As far as being naive is concerned...I did not expect that they would directly honor their coupon of 35. I assumed that after the usual tag ons it would come to a 100-150 and not the ridiculous amount they asked for.

Hope this helps. Next time if you have a question about something I wrote or supposedly misrepresented, please ask instead of calling me names. Lying about what they charged me has no real value in the grand scheme of things. I am not going to hire this company ever again and if I am investing my time posting in this forum it is only to help others like me. Net net I got cheated, period. I am hoping others are not.

I too found this company from an ad in the clipper magazine. They sent out this guy name I believe Alex to clean our ducts. He was extremely rude to and every question I asked him he would roll his eyes or give me a curt short answer.

Prior to the "cleaning" getting started, I asked about the free video so that I could view the before and after shots or the ducts. He said he didn't have the video camera today. I explained to him that would be the only way that I would know if the job was done properly. I also asked about the FREE air duct sanitizer and he said it "was sprayed". At this time I asked to speak to his boss prior to him beginning the job.

His boss apologized for his workers rude behavior and told me that he will send out a tech next week free of charge to video the ducts to ensure the job was done properly. As for the sanitizer, he wouldnÂ’t tell me if the spray was done prior to or at the end of the work. He asked to speak to the worker and the worker took my phone and proceeded to walk away from me so that I couldn't hear the conversation. When I approached him to listen, he began to speak in Russian. About 10-15 min later, the tech brought in a huge bottle of sanitizer. Basically, he had no intentions of giving me the free sanitizer to begin with.

The Owner left me a vm on the phone stating that he would send out a tech the following Fri between 5-7pm. Friday came and went and no tech. I called him over the weekend and he asked me to call on Monday to schedule. I really think they thought I would just go away. By Wednesday, the owner told me that I only paid $99.90 and that he decided that he was not going to send someone out to video my ducts as advertised and promised by him the week before. He waited for my check to cash before telling me that he was not coming back. I told him that I plan on taking this complaint further and he told me to do so.

This company has no work ethic and treats customers with no respect. They are all about the quick dollar - in and out. I already reported this company to the clipper magazine where I found their ad, and plan on filing a complaint with the BBB and the consumer affair division of the Attorney General's office. I am so angry with this company. Stay tuned.

I just checked the BBB website, and this company has a rating of F. It doesn't get worse than that. I wish I did my research on this company prior to calling them.

I wish that I had checked this before I hired this so-called co. My $35 coupon job cost me $175. S. Roman also put a small nozzle thru my vents(denting them) and told me that he had sanatized and deodorized. After he left, I noticed that one of the vents had dust on it and looked like it had not been done, so I opened it up to find dust and dirt. I then opened the return duct and found that all the dust had been moved about 1 foot into a big pile. I then checked all of them and found the same. I called the co. and was told that it was an service and call the manager, the # did not work and when I called the service back they did not answer. I called the S.Roman and told him I cancelled my check, he came back. In the meantime, I got my cell phone and took pictures of everything and had 2 neighbors come over. I had gone around and took all the covers off and he blew air down again and again said that he had sanitized. I just wanted him to leave(I was home alone) and after he left I checked again, my hand came back black and dusty and he didn't put all the vents back on or clear all the dust from even the outside. All the dust in the cold air return is blow into a big pile toward the end of the return. This morning my house and woodwork was covered with dust like I hadn't dusted in months, along with a burning smell every time the heater comes on. He also must have brushed up on the hot water temp. because I had no hot water today.
I have left messages and emailed, but no one has called me back. Now I have to call another company to do the job and hopefully, they have not clogged my heater.

I would recommend filing a complaint with the BBB, attorney general's office - consumer affairs department, and the company that provided the coupon. AAA need to be held accountable. The BBB said they have several complaints from them that they are not responding to. I am sure they aren't going to respond to mine. I too wish I read up on the company before calling them. They are crooks.
