Strange & Unusual - Man Accused of Feeding Cats to Pit Bulls

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Authorities have accused a suburban Atlanta man of capturing neighborhood cats and kittens and feeding them live to his pit bulls.

The differance here is that this person( and i use this lightly person) hurts the kittens first so they can not get away. In nature mice are the food chain of snakes where as cats and dogs would fight in a battle so the loser would take the spoils of the fight. But what this person did is just plain sick, to take a small kitten and hurt and then throw it to a dog for food, Is worse than sick.

ok, I get it now...so dropping a live mouse or rat to be swallowed whole and alive is ok...COOL! thanks for clarifying!

Well the story implies that he was teaching the dogs to be vicious. Which means another scary pit bull story waiting to happen. He, and stupid people like him are the reason bread bans are even possible! Don't take a beautiful, healthy animal and screw up its brain to do terrible things. Aside from the kittens and cats that were hurt, now there is a good chance these dogs will have to be destroyed. The chances of them not being messed up in the head and actually being good loving trustworthy companions is too slim now! Its a terrible thing!

I don't think the normal diet of a dog is a cat. The normal diet of a snake is rodents and small animals. I really don't believe it is the 'same thing'.
Unfortunately, my son raises snakes, he just laughed when I showed him this.

For starters, there is no such thing as a commercial "snake food" that you can buy in a bag or a can and feed a snake. They eat rodents, dead or alive. Now if one decides to feed them dead, the rodents have to be killed somehow. Therefore you are still taking a once live rodent and allowing it's demise for the sake of feeding it to a snake.
To the best of my knowledge, snakes aren't considered domesticated pets as one would consider a dog or a cat. Eating live or dead rodents is perfectly natural to them (and an acceptable practice). Domesticated animals such as dogs and cats have been raised and taught (domesticated) to eat a commercial pet food and have lost the need to hunt.
People raise livestock for food just as some raise rodents for snake food. But because dogs and cats are domesticated, they don't need to be fed live animals and are protected from BEING food by the ASPCA and other organizations.

Why is it whenever you hear the word, "Pit Bull" it's always followed by "Mauled", Maimed, or "killed". I know these dogs have gotten bad press, and it's the owner's fault and whatnot. Still, something needs to be done about these animals. People buy these dogs for one reason only, Their Reputation. 9 times out of 10, they train them to kill. No one ever say's "Hey, Look at that cute Pit Bull". As far as this guy goes, someone needs to feed him to a Pit Bull.
