Police Arrest Dacula Man In Connection To Double Shooting/Homicide

Gwinnett Police homicide investigators arrested 20 year old, Devin Anthony Grell of Dacula in connection with the Double Shooting/Homicide that occurred on Alcovy Park Drive on Friday, July 11th near Dacula.

Another victim of our fine judicial system. You do not put a 16 year old child in adult prison and expect him to be rehabilitated. For five years Devin was taken in by felons and was raised by the scum of the earth in prison. He needed help,treatment and even punishment for stabbing the little redneck-racist SOB, but not adult prison. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Donny, but I don't blame Devin, I blame the local DA who prosecuted Devin improperly. I agree. Politics play more of a role concerning the rehabilitation of our criminals than the well-being of our communities. When our young people are sentenced for crimes in Gwinnett, our elected/appointed officials are more concerned about their own agenda vs. the lives of the victims families. When I say victims I am referring to all parties involved. We have lost two young men forever and once again, I point the finger at the judicial system and our local government.

I knew Devin when he was young, I lived nearby, and lost contact with him later on, but knew about what he was into in high school. He was always a trouble maker, and was prone to quick and violent mood changes. I thought that the system did over-react after the stabbing, yet if he had not been paroled, a man would still be alive today. Its not like this was a random act carried out by a madman, he killed someone he once called a close friend. This could have happened even if he spent 16 months in juvy instead of adult prison. Blame him first, maybe his parents second, then the system. Its sad, but people tried to help him...
