What a Joke

You are way off on that. I don't have a child on the squad at all. I was once part of an elite Cheerleading program that is now an embarrassment. 46 girls? Not everyone is cut out to be a cheerleader. Many should have been cut.

Parents, please let these kids be kids, if it helps them to be involved and not into trouble, then leave them alone. Life is political enough.

Sounds like a bunch of parents are upset because they thought their daughter was so special only to find out she is just an ordinary girl.

Aww, you sound like a parent who knew your daughter wasn't good enough for varsity but...
Nope, I don't have a child in high school.

I'm just a causal observer who has read the ramblings of various parents on Facebook.

I hope the coach can teach some of those young ladies how to act like a lady because their mothers are sure failing at the task.

I have read some Facebook comments about it also. I think those parents have every right to be upset about that. I don't have a high school cheerleader and I really don't care who makes it and who doesn't. But I am really sorry to tell you, the coach couldn't teach the first thing about acting like a lady. A couple of people that I do know that have something to say about it, have very well behaved, and respectful children. That speaks volumes to me. I don't know everyone making comments but the ones that I do, I consider my friends because they are good people.

Not a mother, not in high school, just a former cheerleader and former cheer coach weighing in on this topic...
Girls who bust their butt to learn cheer skills deserve to be on the squad. They worked hard to earn a spot on a competitive squad. Instead, everyone that tried out made the squad. Girls that can't even do a cartwheel or a toe touch made the squad. This is 2012!!! Cheerleading is a competitive SPORT! It is not a PEP CLUB that everyone gets to participate! This is a SHAME and an embarrassment to the SPORT of high school cheerleading! Shame on the coach!

Where is the pride and accomplishment in making a team when all who tried out made the cut? This is ridiculous. Has anyone thought of how much more this will cost the school system in transportation? There is a new rule that no more than 50 kids can ride a bus at one time. The cheerleaders will fill nearly an entire bus! Ask any teacher or coach...the buses are the biggest cost of trips.

This is just typical of the society that we live in today. In public schools, "EVERYBODY'S a winner" all get blue ribbons and those that are born to excel have to be dumbed down to mediocre. This is not preparing kids for the real world where only the strong survive. This is why we have so many people on welfare. I know it sounds like a stretch, but it all starts in youth. Everyone is always looking for a short cut or for a handout. Well, here ya go cheerleaders...

NOT a stretch at all!!!!! Perfect example! It's those that benefit from the handouts and have kids that would get cut that are on here defending this issue!
It's WRONG! Plain and simple!!!!!

Why not two squads? One that consists of the top candidates - those are the cheerleaders who cheer competitively and at every other game. The others cheer only at the other every other games. Then we have the squad for those interested in competition, and the one who just enjoys the school spirit and being part of the high school sports experience.

Ive lived in Anderson County my whole freakin life, and all I can say is what if it were Football, or Basketball, how upset would people be if the coach wanted their kid on the team, although they werent that great, and ended up having to recruit all the tryouts. This is a football town, and cheerleading is as much a sport as that, I think people would be pissed that they had all those kids that honestly just couldnt cut it, just to please a couple people. I have to agree, that adding that many girls, apparently less talented girls to a squad just so the coach could have her child is ridiculous and will come back and bite her on her ass. When they lose competitions and have no budget for the girls, things or coaches may have to change. Just saying.

SO shut up when you do not know what you are talking about. How about when they took a huge bus for 15 girls back in the past, does that make sense? This is a great cost to parents not the school! All the girls will not make the real cut when it comes to practice and stuff anyway so calm down.

I think they should have a new tryout that school officials attend. It is only fair that they observe what all the commotion is about. The coach should not even be able to make any decisions about how many points things are worth. This seems like the only way to make things right for all those involved. I hope this situation can be fixed before it is too late.

People sure have too much time on their hands worrying so much about the high school cheer team. I would say that you are unemployed and draw a check because people with normal lives don't have time to worry about such stuff as this. Who cares if there's 46 girls on the team, she is giving everyone a chance to represent their school and gain self esteem. well this is all I have to say because I have a job and I'm going to work. My advice is to get off your butts and put your time into doing something that is helpful to someone and not hurtful. Judgment day is coming and I sure wouldn't want to be in your shoes with the hurtful comments and judgements you are making toward The coach and her daughter. I guess you will be answering to God on this one. I will make sure to pray for your souls because you are going to need it.

For one, none of you people that are bashing our coach and team probably have no idea what you are talking about. When you know all of the facts about why there is one team and so many girls on the team, then maybe you will understand. All you people thrive on is drama, mind your own business. Our coach has coached many of times and she knows what she's doing, she doesn't follow what you people say about our cheer squad. She follows KHSAA rules and the schools, get your facts straight before you run your mouths about our team. Go Bearcats!:)
