They are moving out in mid August, they will be offering severance packages and you will be eligable for unemployment benefits. But jobs are hard to come by so sorry to all the people employed, maybe go to school, just a thought.

There must be some truth to it. They announced today
that June 30th there would be a permanant layoff. We will just have to see where it goes from here. Hopefully they wont take too many

I know alot of employees are so tired of the bs they really would rather get laid off. They lay people off and the rest have to work their butts off to cover the load and they still arent appreciated.

I agree. Why would you want to still have to work and cover for all the people they laid off. All they are going to do is work us even harder and then shut the doors.

I think its sad that the work is being sent to Mexico and people here are losing their jobs.
Keep jobs in america.
That being said, any place can outsource their work anymore, well not all places but you know what I mean, so with that being the case, people really need to step it up and go a little above and beyond to make sure quality and quantity are being produced.
Stop and think when you are at work of all the visiting, internet play and personal calls you get(this is at any work place, not specifically YKK).
If you tend to "play" you may be the first to roll out the door.
So people, step it up a little and have some work ethics and MAYBE just maybe some of the american companies just might want to stay in AMERICA!
I guess I am just tired of seeing all the horseplay that goes on at my job and I know if I were to get laid off I would be pissed.
Im tired of my taxes going to support people who even when they have a job doesnt really work.
Guess I have to get used to it because in all the years I have worked I see so many people just getting lazier and lazier and saying "it aint my job it aint my job" whatever!!!

Evidentally you aren't bustin your ass or you wouldn't have time to watch everyone else. Seems the ones that want to " step up" doesn't have to do the hardest work. It's easy to step up if you sit in ac all day.

Fed up, you can believe what you like, but unlike some people I can do my job and still see what is going on around me. Just because I dont participate in the horseplay doesnt mean I dont see it.
Im just saying that people need to be careful at this point and hopefully save their jobs.
I could go tell everything I see, but what good would it do? Im not there to get people in trouble, I am there to put a roof over my families heads.
Some people could care less if they have a job or not, they just assume the good old government will take care of them for as long as need be.
Well the old government is in debt beyonds its ass right now, so eventually the money will run out. Then where will we be? homeless? living with people we normally wouldnt be living with?
Sorry I dont stick my head in the sand and assume that whatever happens and happens and I will come out all sunshine and rainbows.
Im right in there with you all. Im just saying WATCH what you do because when it comes time for the picking and choosing the little things that you dont even think about could be the thing between a job and unemployment.

I agree the japs dont care at all, but from what I hear its not them making the decision of who stays and who goes. Well all know this.
I would like to know WHY our Human Resource manager Mr Pass didnt have the guts to come over and face the people who are about to be laid off.
It seems like that the people doing most of the work have the most to fear.
Im sure that Mr Pass is not sitting around worrying about whether or not he is going to have a job at YKK come June 30th.
It looks like to me that these people who make the decsions there would have tried to have come up with an idea other than sending our jobs to Mexico where they are messing it up and then we have to go back and fix what they screwed up.
So someone tell us who is going to fix these screwed up jobs when we are out of a job?
