Listen I'm not on here to put anyone down for being an addict. I don't want any names or nothing like that. Just want to speak a little of my mind to try and help some of you people lost over a little pill. Not long ago I had it all. I had found the love of my life, was trying to have a child, in school doing good, and was working a full time job to support us all at once. It was the happiest moments of my life. At work I started taking perc 30s from a coworker and eventually ended up addicted to them. It caused me to change as a person and even put the girl I loved in the dark. I lied to her over and over again and eventually she left. I then found myself so depressed over the next year that I just wanted to die. I quit school and even started noticing my close friends didn't want to be around me. All this over a pill. After a year of feeling like this I finally told myself it was time to stop. I have now been clean almost 4 months now and I couldn't be more proud of myself. If only my girl could see how hard I've worked. Anyways I just want to tell all you people that's down and feeling like there is no light at the end of the tunnel that their is. You just have to believe in yourself and not let bad things that happen control your mind and make you think you have to have more to not think about things. That's most of an addicts problem. It's not that they want to be addicts. It's that when it's gets tough the depression is so bad it the only thing that helps make you forget. Surround yourself with family and just remember that is does get better. And to the family members you have to be positive with them. This is key but at the same time the addict has to want to change. Now I am almost out of debt and I'll be going back to school next semester and I can't tell you how happy I finally am again. Just keep your heads up and know things get better. God helped me alot as well. I would like to start helping people in this position and if your looking for someone to help or talk to just put your email on here and I will contact you. I'd rather not put my name on here for the world to see tho. So good luck and keep fighting. You can do this. It's better to live a month of hell than a lifetime of it. Your not worthless. People make mistakes.

So wonderful to finally hear something positive on here!!
Way to go! Hold your head high and keep on keeping on.
I hope your girl finds her way back to you, but even if she doesnt, dont let it get you down.
Sometimes we think we really want/need something, but later something else comes along and then we realize that this is what is meant to be and not the thing we wanted so desperately in the past.
I wish you easy times from here on out. Congrats and be proud!

I don't know, this sounds a lot like people who go to prison, find God and all of sudden are preachers. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you finally got your act together and hopefully you keep it together if you want to avoid prison or worse, death. But just because you overcame this don't act all preachy to others. Focus on making yourself better and let go of your past that made you lose everything.

Im sorry but I think your comment was uncalled for.
There is so little positive in peoples lives anymore. I think it is great to hear a positive story once in awhile.
I think this was one of those times where you could have just read the comment and moved on if you couldnt have been a little more encouraging and positive.

I've never been to prison or been in any kind of trouble for one. I just wanted to reach out and try and help people. I just know how hard it can be.

It sounds like you have come a long way! Hang in there and keep up the good work! It's good that you're willing to help others because you've been there and see that there's no future in drugs! I admire you for reaching out to others and wanting to help them.Best of luck and God bless you!

John, u r an ass. This young man was sharing his story and hoping to possibly help someone that is struggling with addiction. I have also been there and it's hard. Keep up the good work and ignore the ones that know nothing about what u r going threw.

Yea, the guy's not preaching he's sharing an encouraging story to try to help out those that may be struggling with the same issues he went through. He's not passing judgement or telling people how bad they are for being users, he's sharing his story and his experience to show hope to those who may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. There's a difference between preaching and sharing.

I read your story and I think you have came a long way with Gods help.... Dont look at your past when you lost everything, look at your future where God will bless you with more than you lost...God only wants what is best for you, just give him thanks even for the things that you have lost... Be blessed always.

Just as you have your opinion my opinion is what I wrote. This is a public forum and just because someone has a positive story I am still entitled to my opinion. It's not like I encouraged him to go back to drugs. I simply said continue to focus on making yourself better before preaching to help others.
You do indeed have a right to your opinion. Of course, opinions are like assholes, we all have one, and 9 outta ten times they stink. Kinda like your opinion! Just sayin'.

God Bless the person who is reaching out to others to share their experience, strength and hope. Prayers are with you.

And we should also pray for those people as well.. They didnt have a choice, some just lost everything and my heart is with all those people.

Can you all go wash out your vagijis and move on? Big deal dude lost everything to drugs and kicked the habit, what do you want a cookie? There are people in the east coast right now that lost everything... And guess what? They did everything right.

Everyone does need prayer! God gave us the ability to pray for all. However I think it's so sad that this person started a thread to try and help others and got shot down by some.Pray for those on the East Coast and for everyone else, but at least feel good for the person that got his life together after having so much tradegy in his life. I also know someone very dear to me that went through the same thing, lost everything and almost everyone in their life. Now they are doing great and I'm so proud of them because I saw what they went through to regain their clean life back. They have worked hard to regain trust, good friends and to be a part of socitey again. No one knows unless they have been through it or watched a loved one go through it. Once again WISDOM I am so proud of you and keep up the good work!

I don't know that I've ever seen a topix thread that had this much correct grammar and spelling in it.
