I went to pick up something from Central Office for my child and realized that they were closed from December 24 - January 1. When did the administration team get three extra paid holidays from the taxpayers? These are the same people that never get a pay decrease and always get a raise. I can see Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, but the rest are really a waste of taxpayers money.

Speaking of money, I heard somebody won a lawsuit against them. That's because of poor leadership problems I would venture to say. I don't know why they would be off all those days. Even the state workers didn't get that many days.

If you think that's bad about being off for days then what do you think about the thousands of dollars spent on t-shirts for all school employees. Thousands and thousands of dollars on t-shirts yet our kids have no books to bring home. Some have long-sleeve, short-sleeve, sweatshirts, etc. - I guess that's the perks of working in Anderson County. I just wish they would spend their money wisely on educating the children well.

Actually, closing the office was probably a measure to save taxpayers money. The office workers are likely hourly, so closing the office means your school taxes don't have to pay them during the slow season.

So does this mean they do not need a check for 2 weeks?

yall are crazy. Look around at the salaries of the surrounding counties educators and administators....Anderson county is 5k less off the top for teachers and about 10-15k for admin. then google how piss poor teachers are paid compared to the other developed countries. Use the GDP to average salary ratio and you will realize why America is now the 26th highest achieving country. People like you complain about education instead of complaining about the millions of people who are literally doing nothing and being paid to do it.

If the teachers were paid based on the performance of their students, they would starve!

I guess we all know who won the lawsuit now. Kathy, the teacher's aide. Good for her that justice was served in her case. I think more people should stand up to the school system and fight for what is right. Wow - there is another lawsuit against the school in the paper! How many does this make that have made the paper? It makes you wonder how many more there will be to make the paper before it's all said and done.

I am so glad Ms. Kathy won her case she was so good at helping people she really cared about the students and families. I could not believe it when she lost her job. It seems the people who care are the ones who get shit on in the school system. You go Ms. Kathy

I believe the paper stated that they took her job away from her. They tried to give her a cafeteria job. She was over qualified for that job. She worked at the schools helping children when she lost her job. I do remember that much of the story. I can't remember what her title was though. I believe they gave other jobs to people that hadn't been there as long as her. We all knew that she would win against the school system. She is a fighter.

Because CO screwed her over, instead of giving her a job she deserved and was so good at ;theResource Center at EBW, they gave someone from central office the job who by the way sucks...and then told her she no longer had a job. But if she wanted she could work in the cafeteria. I am so glad she won...Kathy everyone is so happy for you!!!

I love Mrs. Kathy Campbell she was the best person who ever worked at the Family Resourse Center. It has not been the same since she left, she did so much for the kids of Anderson County. It was a sad day for the children when you were let go.
God Bless you Mrs. Kathy

What about the leadership in this school system? Why all these lawsuits in this school system? Why all the negative talk about this school system and leadership team. I go to Wal-mart, grocery store, funeral home and hear horror stories. These stories include stories about employees, children being mistreated in their classrooms, at sporting practices, and teachers locking their children in their classrooms. Who is on this board at this school system? Doesn't anyone oversee what is going on at this school system? Why are all these people talking so much and is there any truth to any of it? We are new to the area. My wife is really getting upset by these stories.

I hope all other employees and parents will follow Ms. Kathy's example and fight for your rights. Follow what is right and don't let them win! They will try to push you around and shove you in a ditch like they did her. Fight! Fight! and get up and Fight more every last one of you out there! There is power in numbers to make changes......to make progress we have to make changes!
