No-service TV viewers will lose CBS programs - Hawaii Business

Full story: Honolulu Star-Bulletin

Viewers hooked on KGMB-TV's local news or CBS network programs, but who watch the station over the air, will lose those shows when the station changes places with KFVE-TV. A woman who called your columnist from Kalihi said one of the stations told her she would lose her signal when the stations swap channels.

Why should KHNL get the short end of the deal when KGMB was the station with the problem?

Dash should go back to KITV and co anchor with Paula.

Aunty is right on the money. GM Rick Blangiardi spent a ton of money trying to beat the competition. The plan failed. He drove KGMB broke and their news is trash. Now the families and employees of KHNL must suffer.

khnl had poor ratings for years- kgmb has money problems mainly due to KGMB's parent company mcg capital (HITV)- even khon's owner new vision television filed for ch11 bankruptcy this year- kgmb is #1 for a reason: nice set, flashy graphics, nice music package, & a team made up of former khon/khnl anchors/reporters, best of all they offer "balanced news coverage"- khnl always twists stories to make it sound worse than it really is like gov lingle being hospitalized ... for a biopsy- give me a break- stuff like that and those think about it segments make me want to puke- dash is good but i dont think he fits into kitv's "local" news team unless their new news director changes their branding of "island television news"

All I know it that it really sucks not getting the good CBS shows!! As a disabled person who doesn't get out and around much, I look forward to watching the CSI's, and many nights CBS has the best programming. And, no Letterman??!! It was bad enough having 2 "local" newscasts each evening that hardly even touch on outer island stories. From the couple of airings that I've watched of "Hawaii News Now" ... really awful! The whole thing is a mess ... and they say we might not get CBS for months?!! I am fuming!

I am livid that I am now unable to watch some of my favorite shows on CBS! No NBC, then no PBS, now no CBS. This is outrageous. I will not be watching the news on your channel. I know others are really upset as well. Not everyone can afford cable TV.

I agree with Diane. KGMB stole the public's right to watch prime CBS TV shows. This sucks big time!
